Re: The face of things to come

(...) Dave, Thanks for the reply. I think you explained the double joint thing better than I ever could. The bummer is that now I get to compete with you for pieces :-) Oh and one last thing...Ninja swords!!! I need 14. Please call. Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The face of things to come

(...) Hey there, Mark! As one of the few who has actually held Big Blue and the face of things yet to come, I can tell you that these are incredible masterpieces. The Throwbot limbs don't appear to be able to hold much weight, but doubled up (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The face of things to come

(...) Yes they work well. The double gives about the same mobility of the single with more support. The only pose a double won't give you is "cross" articulation: it wouldn't be able to hold a two handed sword, for example. At least not the way I'm (...) Hi Bryce, I see you're using double throwbot limbs at the shoulders. Does that work well? How much weight does it support? Looking forward to seeing more. ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) work. The guy can build some GREAT mechas -- perhaps the best so far on lugnet, certainly amongst the best. I like Blue's fingers, btw. I myself have been working on some Mecha hands, but that unveiling will have to wait for a bit. Kudos. -- (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

The face of things to come

I just posted a pic of my new mecha. I'm borrowing a good digital camera Monday so I should have more pictures in a week or so. (URL) McGlone (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) D.H.B...I like that. The back story for my new mech is similar. The Mech becomes self aware and assimilates the driver (sort of like the Borg). Bryce McGlone (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: New 'Quirinius' and 'TigerStark' Mecha

(...) Well, I'm glad you liked the first one. I quite like the squat gorilla-type look to the second. Now that you mention it though, the arms could do with being a little longer. But it's only built from the two sets mentioned. Anyone willing to (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha @ Moonbase Io

(...) Thanks Bryce. Actually, I haven't seen Titan A.E. yet, but I'd like to. By the way, my Shocktroopers as well as all my other Vedraan droids technically speaking aren't mecha, but mecha sized robots- what I call a D.H.B.(Droid Host Body). The (...)   Re: New 'Quirinius' and 'TigerStark' Mecha

Hi Jason. I like the Quirinus. It's what I would expect a "Classic Space" mecha to look like. ;^) I think the "tiger stark" has a nice torso design, but the arms and legs look a bit too proportionally small. You might think about making them a bit (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
