  Re: got Cheese?

(...) lol - due to legnut's word wrapping, I read your post as: As soon as I saw this pic I was thinking Wallace and Gromit! Great work! God I guess Tim's call for more replies to MOCs is working great!! ;-) (17 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: got Cheese?

(...) Beautiful. And appetizing. I have to say, shouldn't Gouda be able to convert into a "wheel" mode, droideka-style? Looking forward to seeing your designs for Swiss, Jack, and Velveeta. And the powerful-but-mistunderstood Limburger. How about a (...) (17 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: ED-209

(...) That's true, but Aardman's stuff doesn't count because it's perfect--and it's a vile blasphemy to suggest otherwise. Its inclusion would automatically distort analysis of any other film!!!   got Cheese?

(URL) I like the 1x1x2/3 slope piece, and was inspired to use some in a new MOC. A friend of mine said that the yellow ones look like cheese, and that comment stuck in my mind... so after some trial and error, I came up with a little robot which I (...)   Re: ED-209

(...) Remember, Spielberg's JP wasn't all about CGI (though I'll forget the first time I saw the wide shot of the brachs at the lake, or the stampeding Gallimimus scene). He used puppets and also autoerotic dinos as well;-) JOHN (17 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: ED-209

(...) Stop action isn't dead, but it's definitely "retro." Check out Aardman's "Chicken Run" or "Curse of the Were-Rabbit." Talk about attention to detail; there's practically a sight-gag in every frame! Just watch the credits for any modern CGI (...) (17 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: ED-209

(...) Oh no, no indeed! I don't forget the glorious Army of Darkness. But considering it came out one year after T2 and one year before Jurassic Park, it was essentially already a throwback to an era whose time had past. A eulogy of sorts. As was (...)   Re: Sector 4 Tribunal

Keith, Amusing and inspiring, as usual. I'm happy to see that you have embraced the blay, and incorporated it so lovingly with old skool gray. In my opinion, 4 grays are better than 2. Please tell me I'll be able to drool on the Sector 4 Tribunal at (...) (17 years ago, 20-Jan-07, to lugnet.space, lugnet.town, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Surely you're not forgetting Army of Darkness?!? If that's not a stop-motion tour de force, I don't know what is! But I agree that something satisfying was lost when the film industry collectively decided to move to CGI... Dave! (17 years ago, 21-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Sorry isn't going to cut it this time Jonathan. Your constant tardiness, coupled with your self-proclaimed inability to do enough interiors has forced my hand.
