  Re: Finally!!!

I don't know about building the Coleopteran just the way it looks, but perhaps you could just capture its feel (or philosophically: essence)! "Oh now! Mladen's using big words again, run, flee to the nearest Mecha Hanger... And prepare for the (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

"Minifigs just can't have armor built around them in Lego Bricks, is what I've found." Oh yeah, check this out: (URL) don't know if this what you mean by armour, but it's close enough! (...) built (...) series (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally! Pallas Spaceworks Update

(...) Hey, I hate being a me-too'er, but that Magellan *is* most excellent ;-) What I liked most was the observation dome on the front of the Magellan. Do you mind if I borrow the idea? With proper credit if I should ever publish a MOC based on it, (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) Well, I don't know about that. :) And remember that the original design is David White's. In fact, I just recieved this E-mail from him: "AWESOME. I love it, I really do. I had a game company buy the rights to the spider tank design. They're (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

(...) That would be excellent! (...) Yessir, that's what I was thinking. (...) Uh... well, really personal armour (like Terminators) is something I've wanted for minifigs ever since I was a kid watching Robotech's "Invid Invasion" series (with (...)   Re: Finally!!!

(...) Yes, the arms are built on pins, so the weapons are really modular. I've built these in a bunch of different mission configs with different weapons. Maybe later I'll put some of them up on Brickshelf. I'd love to see some of these guys in a (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) It does indeed capture a lot of the aspects of the Dreadnaught. Are the arms built on technic pin joints? That would make swapping them out really, really easy. Hmmm. More BrikWars fodder... it's getting to a point where I could field a Space (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Finally!!!

(...) Thanks! Yeah, the Toad started out as part of a feeble attempt at making some 40k stuff. Nothing really cool turned out, but I reworked the quasi-dreadnought and got this. I'm pretty happy with it now. -Jeremiah- (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

(...) a (...) Teflon Pipe Tape! Yes!! I've got tons of that stuff! I'll give that a try, or the Saran Wrap (thanks Mike). I tried scotch tape, but it wouldn't conform to the holes well enough. I love Lugnet. You guys rock :) Adrian -- (URL) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) with it at first, but it just keeps looking cooler and cooler. I'll definitely have to re-think how I do toes now. :-, What's really cool is that the Toad is, like, only 2 or 3 pieces away from being a WH40K Space Marines Dreadnaught -- but (...)   Re: Finally!!!

Well thanks Jeremiah, but your 4 legged SpiderTank is way cooler than all my multi-legged mecha! ;-) And who cares about the Tyco piece; if I have it, I would use it! ;-) And I really, really like the colour sceme of the ZOOT Suit; it's cool! BTW I (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: tightening up mecha joints

(...) Actually, that's a great idea! Not only will it not show up when seen from the side (as is occasionally the case), but Saran Wrap (or any plastic wrap for those against using brand names :) is DESIGNED to stick to things... Not to mention that (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Karim Nassar wrote in message ... (...) so (...) Well, the feasibility of each method may or may not be superior to the other, but I think that my supercavitating-bullets idea was a whole lot sexier.   Re: tightening up mecha joints

(...) Silicon tape should work well. You can findn it in the plumbing section of a hardware store. It is a white tape (no sticky) about 3/8" wide. It is very stretchy and will conform very tightly to any shape. It's used on the threads of pipe for (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What is that mysterious green thing?

(...) I'm working on a four-legged robot tank that would easily take him on. <evil grin> (...) I've had to go completely TL6 in order to have enough power to get my mechs standing on their own legs. Why is that unfortunate? Later, Gino A... (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: tightening up mecha joints

My mecha can stand up on his own now! =) He can aim his gun for days without ever lowering his (...) (24 years ago, 17-Aug-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
