  beginnings of a mech

I thought I'd share this as I've seen some postings asking about this very sort of building. One of my mechs, Hammer, fell and had a boo boo. Atomized would be the word. So anway I'm taking it all in stride and building a new mech. I'm gonna call (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Quite the remake of the Gomgile. I'll admit right off that I know near-to-jack about mecha, but I can say the posture of the mech is much improved. B looks eternally ready to pounce. I want to see this in real life, your mechas have so much (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) This is what I have been doing in documenting the complete redesign of my minifig scale space shuttle orbiter. (URL) the casual observer, the new orbiter isn't remarkably different from the old one, since they are basically built to the same (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) I second Larry's advice. I personally studied the LDraw files of past builders such as (URL) Karim Nassar>, (URL) Ben Vaughan> (site is down), and (URL) Jeremy Sproat> (site is down). The MOCs these guys made were so critical to my (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) I'm not Eric but this question can be asked in any theme, do you start by copying the idioms of the best builders in the theme (be it trains, castle, spaceships, mecha, whatever) or start by trying to develop your own? My advice, however (...) (20 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: The Beeesh

(...) Eric, I appreciate your responses. (...) Amazing! (...) So I guess the question and decision I am left with is: Do I create my own joints from scratch or do I ask for examples and start from where others have left off? What would you (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Both thank you and sorry about that. Sometimes we have difficulty playing together in the sand box. (...) I might rabbit, I might. (...) Please do, this makes it fun. (...) Yes. (...) Each joint is controlled and held in place by use of worm (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Scott, thank you. You do make good points. I appreciate your words. If you place your cursor over the picture links, I embedded construction highlights within the thumb links. That is all I wanted to add. I felt the Mecha exhibited only a handful of (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Now There's an Enthusiast - Hidden Treasure (was Re: The Beeesh)

(...) Eric, In light of recent personal events with you, I'm not sure you'll take what I'm saying favorably or not. Perhaps if you wrote down in your original post all the improvements you made to the Mech, people would appreciate it, and look at (...) (20 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
