Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Thank you, thank you very much! I was definately going in a different direction from my previous mecha with this mech, i'm glad it is going over well with you guys! When i was assembling the torso i initially had those radar covers on the (...) (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Yeah, it was my favorite as well, glad you enjoyed it! (...) Oddly enough i have been trying to use some of those brown wedges for ages, usually as swords or arms, i guess they work better as feet! And Many thanks for the kind remarks! (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Thanks Chris. I think the torso might look out of proportion because I took the pics at a downward angle. I'll have to get more pics up to give a better idea of the size. I guess a lot of proportion is just personal preference. -Brayton (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

Although you've already made many technic mecha's,you still keep surprising me with new improved things. Another fine addition to your mecha designs! But I don't wanna know what is behind the flaps in the middle of Skrylitch his hips... :P Cheers! (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Weird. It's a lightsabre blade. (...) I plan on tackling it right after I finish a competition model I'm working on. Cheers, Allister (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Okay then... The combination of smooth forehead and fiberoptic "hair" at the base of the skull made me wonder for a minute if it was a self-portrait :). That's all I can think of, really. Soren (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin Hardsuit

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I wasn't to happy with the limbs myself. I'll put them back on the drawing board and see what I can come up with for the Mark II. Troy (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Hello sir, and why thank you. Yes, "fully wormed" means all of the major joints use worm gears to create and maintain movement and positioning. Very Glad you like it. thanks for the feedback!!!! e (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) R.I.P Rumble Bunny. C-Mad, thank you!ya the head is weird, but solid and very strong, it has working fiber optics in the back of the head, so the fibers are like hair strands. (its got bed head) lol! (...) Thanks bro, I worked hard on the (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Hey cool, thanks! Yep, the FSS fan in me calls too. Facial expressions? I might do that one day. When I'm even a bigger nut then I am now! (...) Construction thoughts then? Any thing you like, go for it. (...) That is awesome. I love that. e (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

(...) I sure will, expect the finishing steps to be added shortly. Great, I'm glad this helped you. (...) I hope so too, I get what I get, I guess. This genre/compartmentalazation has its draw backs, I'm getting a little sick of it, TBH, however, (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Technic (...) Damn, that is cool! Eric, what do you mean by "fully wormed"? Does that mean each axis is driven by a worm gear to facilitate positioning, but to stay where its put? Iain (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Thank you Soren. I tried to make this thing completely studless. I think it looks so much better when it's smooth. I doubt I'll ever make anything with studs on it again. -Brayton (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Eric, thanks for your reply. The knees do bend to just about parallel with the floor.(I think you can see the click hinge in one of the rear pictures.) I agree that the hands don't fit. Do you know of anything just slightly larger than what I (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin Hardsuit

(...) I agree with Chris. You may also want to cover those exposed studs, as they add to the unfinished quality. I really like the chest as it makes it look all big and tough. this mecha definately has some promise! -Lenny (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) I couldn't get the "connecting" piece to load. What is it? (...) Yeah...well...see, if he doesn't have hips then he doesn't need knees, because then he'd just look like a minifig. That, or no comment. Take your pic. :-) (...) Thanks dude. I'd (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Hey, nice! I like the way your suit opens up, very cool with the back/arms/shoulders swinging down like that. And the front enclosure is pretty neat too. But the untold gems of this suit are those large curved slopes on the legs. That's a (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Mah boy! Very nice one this time, E. I really enjoyed watching the progression as it went together. As for the moc itself, the head isn't one of my favorites of yours. Funny, since Soren's digging it. Guess it's just personal flavor or (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin Hardsuit

(...) Thanks! (...) Troy, that's a very nice start, but this moc looks unfinished to me. I really like the way you used chairs as shoulderpads. But the joints look pretty spindly. Perhaps if you used more pieces that were smaller, to add some bulk (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Did I! That's a beautiful piece of work. The FSS fanboy in me digs the slender little waist, but the head, as always, is the main dish. One of your best, very human. Does it have facial expressions? :). I don't think there's anything to (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Mecha under construction: Make-a-Mecha 1-2-3-4

Eric, truely amazing. I like it a lot. I saved this thread and all the pictures as a tutorial. Can you add here a brief description of the final steps so it looked finished? Also good to see tips and tricks of the construction. Many thanks. P.S. I (...) (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Chris Maddison's (URL) Shen Kai Powersuit> (very nice, btw) inspired me to try my hand at mecha creation. (URL) I tried to capture a PCS flavour with the Paladin hardsuit — I hope I got close enough.   Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) I'm not sure what else you've got going on there, but you could try this. (URL) He doesn't appear to have knees either ;) Anyway it's a supercool moc. Like Ryan I think I'm going to make one for my very own. Allister (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Gah, I totally had the spine wrong. Battle droid body, I wouldnt have thought. Thanks so much for the new pics. Just finished the model with all the right pieces and it definitely seals up a bit nicer around the pilot. I forgot to say earlier (...)   Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Thanks G. Y'know, I guess the best way to describe it on this scale is this: Take a spacecraft, tear out the cockpit, and build arms and legs around it instead of wings and landing gear. Or something witty like that. :-) -Chris (20 years ago, 27-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Dude, ask and ye shall receive: (2 URLs) That battle droid body is the key. Really sweet job replicating the suit. I love the way you substituted a 2x3 plate and 1x2 tile on the leg where I used a 2x4 plate. Allows for much more ankle motion. (...) (...) (URL) to a large pic of my attempt. Better version? I can't even get it to match yours.   Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) I really don't know how you (and other mecha builders) come up with this stuff. I take a look at the ankle joints and my head starts to spin...genious man. As said, this guy looks to be 'roided up to the max - I'm sure no one kicks sand in his (...) (20 years ago, 26-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Ooooh nice. I like the legs too, very well made. I agree with Chris, the whole thing doesn't really gel, but the individual parts are great. New arms would help, I think. All in all great job! Soren (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: My latest effort...Needs critique\ideas

Jas, this is looking very cool. The suggestions I have are: The hips need some work, perhaps just adjust the hip skirts to give the illusion that they are a little wider or beefier. The shoulders look a bit big and bulky, but that is part of the (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) Yo Eric, thanks mang. All about the pics. Not near as good a quality as, say, Palmer's or JHK's, but you've seen my setup and know the conditions I'm working in. :-) Out. -Chris (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gundam-K6

Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

Frank, this is a very unussual design. Wow, was it hard to get it to stand when you were building and developing the legs? Breaking ground my friend. e (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) -snip- Brayton, this is stunningly beautiful. The look and feel is Gundam. No doubt. The feet are superb. The legs look great, although, I don't see much knee bend. It still looks stellar. The chest is cool as is the head. Very cool. The arms (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

I gotta chime in on my boy's MOC. C-mad, the feet and chest on this Powersuit rock big time. Nice job, very cool pictures to. Good work man. e (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha)
