Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

How about this people? Regular Categories -- 1. Commuter vehicles ala Meteor Monitor: limit of 50 elements 2. Small Ground Vehicles ala Alienator: limit of 100 elements 3. Small Ships ala Invader: limit of 200 elements 4. Bigger Ground Vehicles ala (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

<much editing> Ending it after Christmas sounds good. How about midnight, Dec 31 - (that is, the eve before newyear's eve). I don't think judging will be that big a problem if we keep the range of categories small, as you suggested. I do have one (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

(...) I agree with ending after Christmas too. We could then have one week of voting and wrap it up by January 7th. I do not want the voting to take forever. Are we going to limit voting to those who enter only? BTW, My ISP is changing my domain (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

(...) I like that. (...) I actually like general categories like these better than those very specific ones of the last contest. Weren't there about a dozen or so different categories last year?   Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

(...) How about we aim to have the rules ironed out and posted early next week? As for the end time, we should a month to build. I have lots of time, some webspace (though if I got a brickshelf account, I could have lots more), and I'll take bribes in US dollars or gold pressed latinum (sorry, just got back from (...)   Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

(...) Maybe a group of 3 or so could come up with a set of rules. I'd be willing to help out here. I'd also be happy to do the contest page. If so, I'd host it here on Lugnet and use Brickshelf for images. And in 5 or so years when we get around to (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: 2nd Annual Space Building Contest?

(...) Since it is not Ice Planet ;-), I would be willing to help with scrutinizing the votes again. With that double checking, the organizer should be able to compete if he/she wishes. Bribes will begin at $100-, and I take American money at par. (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

(...) Methinks NOT! I'd be happy to help out, as long as I don't render myself ineligible. We need to let Todd play too, of course. (...) Um, yeah. There was a rather elaborate voting scheme before.
