(since this is .arch, it's only natural that there should be arch questions
here, no? ;-)

While building my 5571, early this year, my eye caught on one specific design
using arches:
(the yellow frame in this step:
http://www.brickshelf.com/scans/5000/5571/5571-021.html)

I thought that using a few arches cumulatively in order to fill the interior
of the circle, and to get a larger "radius", was a great idea, and stored it
in my mind for future use.

Well, now I actually have something that I want to use that design in.... and
that's were the trouble starts. :-(
I'm building a balcony, using the big paradisa bubble pieces. Their upper
radius, on the flat side, fits the 1x6x3.3 half arches. So I decided I'll fill
in the gap between the wall and the top with arches.
(a picture is worth a thousand words:

After I *decided* to, I went out to hunt the arches I'd need to accomplish
this. And I found that I'm missing one...
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=7333

Apparently, this half-arch would be 1x4x2.6, or so I estimate. BUT, I'm not
even sure such an arch exists!! I couldn't find one in my collection, and I
can't remember seeing it anywhere.

If it really doesn't exist (and I'm hoping it does!), I really don't
understand this. The large half-arch, as well as the half-step arch, seem to
be proportional to thhe smaller arches; so it seems only natural to assume
this was well thought-out, and there *should* be another arch in there to fill
the gap.

Does anyone know about these mysterious arches? Please LMK! My balcony is
going to look very weird without them. :-)

(...) I've run into the same problem myself. Maybe at some point LEGO will create that missing arch, but I don't think they have. You could leave the curved opening, or you could add a second row with the medium arch stragetically moved forward and (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.arch)
