(...) snip (...) thank you for your kind words! the paned glass is the glass from some of the harry potter sets (URL). it's a great piece but sometimes you have to hide the painted detail at the bottom of it. -§ deborah §- (15 years ago, 28-Mar-09, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

(...) snip (...) thanks, jonathan. as much as i wish lego would make more different styles of doors and windows, i'm enjoying the challenge of building them myself. -§ deborah §- (15 years ago, 28-Mar-09, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

(...) As always, your designs are wonderful, Deborah! I particularly like the baronial doorway. Very clever use of elements, like the rock halves as planters and the just-barely fanned out elements in the transom. What parts are you using to get the (...)   Re: new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

(...) Some very tasty ideas to borrow here. Very nice! I am trying to get away from using Lego doors and build them myself in a similar manner that you have. Best, Jonathan (15 years ago, 23-Mar-09, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  new mocs: doorway studies 5-8

in keeping with my newest building theme, i continued the (URL) doorway studies>. there are many advantages to doing these studies: i get to use a variety of architectural styles, a wide of variety of colours, they take up much less space to store (...)   new mocs: doorway studies 1-4

last year i dismantled one of my favourite creations, (URL) st. paul de vence>. i had intended to keep it around but i was going through a building slump and decided it had to be undone. as i did this, i realized i was more emotionally attached to (...)   new moc: microscale auditorium

(2 URLs) this moc started out as a study for different radii of curved walls. then i decided to go ahead and finish it into something. i was thinking along the lines of a large public building/display space - art gallery, auditorium, theatre, etc. (...)   Re: Yankee Stadium - really darn big

(...) LOL! :) Thanks. It has certainly been a different experience for me! This makes sense though... My mother was a pre-school teacher and my father was a model railroader. Is it any surprise I ended up this way? :) Sean - - Sean Kenney Art with (...) (16 years ago, 23-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: Yankee Stadium - really darn big

(...) Having the patience and ability to work with/teach a grade schooler is very commendable, Sean! You better watch out; one day he might take over your job! :) Oh yeah, the Stadium is awesome. In-progress shots are always appreciated. -Bryan (16 years ago, 23-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: Yankee Stadium - really darn big

(...) Well, this boy is a total LEGO-maniac, and his father initially contacted me in late 2005 about somehow doing a project together with his son. The father was interested in having his son learn about what I do and how I approach the (...) (16 years ago, 23-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: Yankee Stadium - really darn big

(...) Great work! Could you describe how your collaboration with the grade-schooler got started and how it works? Judy M. (16 years ago, 23-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: Yankee Stadium - really darn big

(...) Awesome as usual. Now if you could get a real table out of the locker room or somewhere from the stadium itself to display it on--that would be really kewl, also. Tommy Armstrong (16 years ago, 22-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Yankee Stadium - really darn big

All: For almost three years, I've been working on a sculpture of Yankee Stadium together with a Manhattan grade-schooler. It's only a few months away from being complete. I don't normally post photos of my LEGO creations before they're finished, but (...) (16 years ago, 22-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

  Corporate Death Squad (aka Starbucks)

I'll preface this MOC by saying I'm not a big fan of "big chain coffee" (Starbucks, Caribou, etc.). I consider Starbucks the "Corporate Death Squad". I must confess that I have been a patron of the 'Bucks from time to time, but only when I can't (...) (16 years ago, 3-Jul-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town, FTX)

  New York Style Brownstone

I've been lazy about posting MOC's lately so you'll probably see a string of them coming out in the next week or two. Stacy and I did so much building leading up to Brickworld that we had no time to take pictures or post anything. Now that we're (...)   First National Bank of LEGO

I know a lot of you saw this MOC's debut at Brickworld, but I figured I would post it here for those that couldn't make it this year. This is the 1st National Bank of LEGO I created in the weeks leading up to Brickworld 2008. It is built in the (...)   Re: New MOC: Grand Traverse Lighthouse

Hi, while I do not know the original building, I particularly like the way you did the roof construction, as that is an approach that I have been considering for my buildings for quite some time. The obvious drawback is that you can only build (...) (16 years ago, 3-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: New MOC: Grand Traverse Lighthouse

(...) My step dad has a summer trailer at a campground on Lake Leelananu, so I'm pretty sure I saw this lighthouse the last time I visited. Very cool. Jeff (16 years ago, 2-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)
