  Re: New MOC: Red Building

(...) Good Gravy, those buildinga are incredible. I would never have thought to use binoculars for window cornace. All the different parts used in the facades are as close to real in anything I've seen in Lego. "Mini-Fig Legs!!!" ROFL. Great Work, (...) (22 years ago, 22-May-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New MOC: Red Building

(...) Very nice. I think the idea of using the legs is great, although I would have tried to make the cornice more prominent by having it protrude by 1/2 or a full stud and making it a different color. I like the window architecture, looks great (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New MOC: Red Building

(...) So what you are saying is "nice pants"? ;-) Thanks, Bruce. Yes, necessity truly is the mother of invention; I went to Bricklink and did a search for all of the available parts in dark red and went from there. I doubt that I would have come up (...)   New MOC: Red Building

Nothing too earth-shattering here, but I did have some fun with the use of different textures (with some creative assistance from my son Ross). Check out the facade across the top-- all minifig legs:-) The uh, rear is even better-- looks like a moon (...) Hello, The arrival of rust-dark orange-earth orange bricks have made way for a new fire station. This one inspired by the station on Webster Ave in the Bronx. A typical modern station in NYC. Colors match the actual one pretty closely, I made the (...) (22 years ago, 30-Apr-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town) !

(...) so, I had no problem immediately recognising it as the ERGON building (I didn't recognise the name CAPELEC so I had no preconceptions). Your MOC is very true to life. As I had my NLS with me, I didn't engage in any Lego-related activities (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: First in a series of Buildings (I hope)

Thanks for the comment Kevin :-)) The windows are just 2x2 & 1x2 Black bricks. Seemed the most suitable as the actual windows are very dark. (probably tinted, Rockhampton is a hot and sunny place) I could use 1x4x3 window frames I suppose but the (...) (22 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.loc.au)

Hi Amy, I don't know if this is of any help - but at least some of the material has been kindly mirrored by slashdotters. It's still up even if your server is down. Fame also has its positive side ;-) (URL) stuff, BTW. (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

9th train show of the FGLTC ended a few hours ago...

Dear Lego®-Enthusiasts, our 9th public show took place in Muelheim (somewhat north of Cologne) today. It was the so far biggest event (at least concerning visitors count). And we have seen lots of nice new models. For eg here are a few of the (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.space) !!
