Re: 10 Starship Designs —Sam Wiley
(...) I quite agree. Chopping and cutting is well....almost cheating. Besides the fact that I have to wonder *who* would have enough of a particular part to go cutting stuff up like there's no tomorrow, it seems merely a copout. The real challenge (...)         Re: 10 Starship Designs —Shiri Dori
(...) I hold the opinion that a little modifying here and there doesn't hurt, PROVIDING what you make still looks like lego (most important! If people see your piece in a pic and ask "what set did that come from?", that's great) and also if the (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: 10 Starship Designs —Scott Edward Sanburn
To All, I am rather curious, I have not been following too closely in terms of this discussion, but from what I saw of Jamal's ships, they don't have the bumps on them. Is there something else, or is that it? I think the ships are nice, even though (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: 10 Starship Designs —Chuck Sommerville
(...) I was referring to how the cylinder merges with the sloped pieces in the middle of this model: HeavyThreat.jpg (URL) know of no Lego pieces that fit together in this way. If there are, I wanted to know the details of which pieces they are. I (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

NO LEGOS HARMED Was: 10 Starship Designs —Jamal Coleman
Since it seems a matter of great concern to some of us, let me reiterate once more NO LEGO was harmed, cut or chopped by me to make any creation, not now or in the future. (Though when I was younger I was guilty of biting the sideburns off of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: NO LEGOS HARMED Was: 10 Starship Designs —Eric Joslin
(...) It's not hard to figure out how you did it, but I think most people view LDraw (and associated programs) as being ways of documenting things you can actually, physically do. In other words, having two Lego elements in LDraw occupying the same (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Jamal, Eric, & All, (...) LDraw (...) occupying (...) more. Indeed. I think they are creative, even if some don't, which is fine as well. Lord knows it would be boring if we are all the same.           Re: NO LEGOS HARMED Was: 10 Starship Designs —Eric Kingsley
(...) No we must assimilate him into the collective. :-). Just kidding of course. I also think they are very creative even if they can't be built with actual bricks. Heck thats all we are all trying to do is be a little creative. Nice work, Eric (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Rendering impossible to build models —Chuck Sommerville
(...) I am well aware of what POV can render. I have been modeling in POV for years, long before I discoved tools for creating dat files and converting them to POV. Although your models are very cool looking, They appear to not be buildable out of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: 10 Starship Designs —Jamal Coleman
Sam I can assure that no LEGO was harmed in the making of any of my creations. No actual CUTTING or CHOPPING was done to any LEGO, it's done with special effects CAD, like in the movies. Jamal Coleman (...) then (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)
