I've seen lots of designs but none have enough power, air-wise.  I need
pressure and volume!  I made a good one once using two of the large spring
loaded pumps.  But that was using really old technic motors.... the
mindstorms motors are much to weak to power that design.  Besides, it was
huge :-(
The little cylinders make such a tiny amount of air, they're no use at all!
Does anyone have plans for a usable air source?

(...) Methinks you are going to need some of the blue airtanks (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Hello, if you need a rich air source you should something like this. (URL) don't know how to explain it in english. It has a hand air pressure pump, a great tank of 5 liters and you should put no water inside the tank if you use it with Lego Ralf (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I've used two of the little pumps in conjunction with two Air Tanks. I takes 15-20 sec. to fill up the tanks and afterwards you can operate a pneumatic cylinder every 2.5 - 3 sec. for about 15 min. while the compressor is running coutinously. (...) I have built another pneumatic compressor and pressure switch; I believe both are improvements on the previous designs. The compressor is full-stroke, double-pump, uses the new 9v motor and is rather small; the pressure switch is similar to Ralph (...)
