I have built another pneumatic compressor and
pressure switch; I believe both are improvements
on the previous designs. The compressor is
full-stroke, double-pump, uses the new 9v motor
and is rather small; the pressure switch is
similar to Ralph Hempel's one but is more
compact. Both compressor and switch designs
adhere to exact LEGO geometry, so I expect
them to perform well in real models.

appreciated...

I've seen lots of designs but none have enough power, air-wise. I need pressure and volume! I made a good one once using two of the large spring loaded pumps. But that was using really old technic motors.... the mindstorms motors are much to weak to (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)
  USB IR tower?

Does anybody know if a USB version of the Mindstorms' IR tower has been seriously considered, and/or if one would happen to be in the works? One would normally use a USB-serial converter if stuck using only USB, but I'm also stuck in an environment (...) (24 years ago, 3-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I'm almost certain that the upcoming RCX 2.0 's IR-Tower is USB. (...) A RF comms would be even nicer, like my Cybermaster :) The only advantage of a USB-PBrick instead of a RF-PBrick(+IR to inter-PBrick comms) would be that the PBrick could (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics)
