I understand how this makes a pyramid.

I don't understand how this makes a pyramid. Does the pyramid rise
with a less steep angle now? Are these three lines one vertical section?
Maybe I'm just being dense....

| Actually, I had decided to go very big on a pyramid, which I finished last weekend. After building a pyramid on a 48x48 baseplate (nice sounding drum, by the way), went for an 80-stud wide pyramid, built upon a 48x48 surrounded by a ring of 16x32's. (...)
