Out of curiosity, what will you do when you've covered all the Escher
greats?  As a suggestion, I'd love to see you guys come up with your own
original Escher-esque LEGO scene now that you've had all this practice... @8^)

Well there are still a few Eschers left ;-) I admit there aren't all that
many more "impossible" ones that I have a good idea yet how to do, but I
think we have a good chance of at least another one or two (Does anyone have
a good idea how to do the "roll-up" creatures from "House of Stairs" in
Lego????? - bearing in mind that the picture would need _lots_ of them)

So far each Escher picture we've done has required a completely different
set of techniques to all the others. For example, this is the first time
we've had to resort to blatant photographic trickery (I think the distortion
in "Balcony" doesn't really count as the same thing since it isn't used for
trick purposes). If we find that we start repeating methods it may get less
interesting.

Yes, it would be nice to do a design of our own. We're just a couple of
math/computer geeks and hence somewhat artistically challenged, but if we
get a good idea...

Wonderful! Fabulous work, Andrew and Daniel. You continue to greatly impress and inspire. The overall images are always spot-on, and the little details like the clothesline bring a real warmth to the work. Out of curiosity, what will you do when (...) (22 years ago, 2-May-03, to lugnet.build)
