A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Well, finally got done with them. (URL) note: pics are sized to 1154x768 (about 3x2 proportions) and will take some time to view. Enjoy Adrian Egli (22 years ago, 24-Aug-02, to lugnet.build) !!

(...) ... Beautiful. I especially like the train bridge. You must have very steady hands to build on top of the stacks of 1x1 bricks! Do you plan to incorporate the train bridge into a layout? Cary (22 years ago, 24-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

(...) ..and I bet this took some time. What I found interesting was that the piece really looked like a work of art. The color and style looked right at home with the decor in your living room. Very classy piece and I look forward to seeing how you (...) (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Thanks for the compliment! Cross your finger for 2003. You're right; it did take some time. Part of the hold up were the number of brick link I had to make just to finish it. One moment I thought I was OK, then discovered I needed more. (What really (...) (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Yes...much better...I agree. There is a better harmony (...) (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Well, truth be told. I've been pondering over the idea of going to the NW BrickCon and taking this with me to present as a MOC. Been stuck in So Cal for so long (exception being Las Vegas) that I want to go outside the bounds of the SW. Besides, (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Thank you. OK, here are the full dimensions: Overall height: 78 bricks (light gray = 71, dark gray = 7) Height at track's elevation: 75 bricks Overall length: 144 studs (equivalent to 18 straight rails) Distance from midpoint to midpoint of the (...)          OMG! (Re: A Mid Summer's Study) —Adrian Egli
Gang, OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE! Please forgive my horrible math. Height and depth values are good but the length values are WAY OFF!!!!! So here are the corrected values: Overall length: 288 studs (NOW that's equivalent to 18 straight rails) Distance (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Manfred Moolhuysen
That is a very pretty bridge, Adrian. If 1x1 bricks are a problem, I believe that bricks 1 x 2 would look quite nice also, when the're placed in such a way that one of their narrow sides is facing outwards. With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Thanks for your complement. I did consider using the 1x2 in the manner you mention. It would have been easier to set down the bricks above (a 2x8 sitting above a single column of 1x1s 14 bricks high) and could easily been purchased through SAH. I (...)      (...) WOW. That is very nice, I am especially impressed with study 4. Most people commented about the train tracks, but I was really taken by that one. I mean - it's *diagonal*! That's a lovely use of bricks, and you can't really tell that from the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Adrian Egli
Thanks for your complement of study 4. That was really one of those "What can I do with just (blank)." ideas. I could use any color as long as it was light gray and any sizes of brick as long as they were 1x2 and 2x4. Those were the only (...) (22 years ago, 27-Aug-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: A Mid Summer's Study —Tony Alexander
Adrian, Fantastic and creative use of regular bricks to make beautifully functional works of architecture!
