I think LEGO is nearing it's untimely demise of great fun that it used to

minifigures was a great idea, but they stopped. Holy shiznik, TLG it's

I'm just older and losing interest... but there is one thing that is
bothering me about the line so far...

NO... NEW... THEMES. Yeah. We have no new themes for 2002. Just
continuations of the previous lines. I think Lego is running out of ideas.

What are your thoughts on the current situation?

I keep all my thoughts on the current situation right here:

As for the lack of new themes?  This is a good thing.  Part of the recent
problems has been the incredible deluge of themes.  At one time in the last
year, the LEGO site listed no less than 20 themes.  Keeping them all of a
consistent quality was obviously impossible.  I have suggested for some time
now that the company needs to reign in the themes, ax the poor ones and
focus on a few solid ideas.  You don't get out of a creative and financial
hole by taking that opportunity to 'experiment' with new things.  Galidon't
and Jack Stone are two shining examples of what *not* to do when you're not
sure what's selling..... or why.

Just my humble thoughts.  :)

All the best,
Allan B.
