ug, this is the bitter sweet part of Lego for me as well.
I'll put myself into the Lego, it's what part of what makes the end result
so cool.  But, I also know, no matter how cool, there's something else that
needs to be built.  Something inside titan is saying to me, "Yeah, yeah.
This is a cool mech but I'm going to be something else soon.  And you know
it!"  Black Eagle is saying the same thing.  (besides, I know those click
hinges are going to give one day...)

I like to think of it  sort of like the Vodoo religion.  The good, it comes
with the bad.  (for if you don't know Vodoo, then know this; it is all about
balence.  The light must balance with the dark.  There cannot be one without
the other)  So it is with Lego and me.  I know the brick must seperate at
some point.  I try to make a celebration out of it.  Sort of like a happy
funeral.  I mourn the passing of an icon.  (for that what these are, an Icon
of an emotion or thought)  And revel in the creation of the next.

On that icon (okay watch out Eric, I'm going now...) When you made Mantis
you were at a particular stage of your development.  It represented the
ultimate of what you were at that time.  Most likely a happy time as you are
so attached.  It's breaking is important: stop hanging on to something you
cannot have anymore.  It is in the past.  Let it go.  (whatever is attached
with you and Mantis)  The longer you hang on the longer the repercussions
will endure.  (I.E. Lego breaking...)  Celebrate the memory, honor it but do
not hang on to it.  For it serves you no longer.  FYI, IMO

So, on that note, thank you for making this creation and sharing it with us!
I know many have ogled at Mantis, and I'm sure as many have stories to
share.  But now is a time of passing, and release.
We're here for you bud.

Mark Neumann

Guys, It's been a whole year since I have had the Mantis Standing. It's really busted. It's dusty, broken, sun bleeched, and loaded, loaded, loaded with useful parts. I have already raided parts from it. Most of the legs have literaly broken, the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.build) !
