Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) I call them "low slopes" or "33 degree slopes" (even though they are not EXACTLY 33 degrees, just like the "45 degree slopes" aren't exactly 45) I forget what LEGO calls them. I don't think any have ever been sold as a single part bulk item, (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) Yes, I figured the 33 degree thing would come into play somewhere. I've always thought of these as "roof bricks" and I think it's primarily because of how I aquired my original supply of them. See the following link for pics: (URL) also put up (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

(...) Thinking of 633? Suprisingly I have a box from 633 holding floppy disks right next to me now, & the floppys contain pics of LEGO's ;-). It's just the right size. similar to 811 but with (...) The Lego store in the Mall Of America? I got mine (...) (23 years ago, 17-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) Yes: (URL) *PROVES* that our name for these elements is BETTER than TLCs since both the medium and low slope pieces are called "roof tiles". Feh! See, if they would just LISTEN to us... oh wait, they do listen to us. (...) No comment. That (...) (23 years ago, 18-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) It is well known that our names are far superior to the "official" TLC names. Their names are derived from poorly translated Dutch names, based on a naming convention that fell apart after they added the 2x3 brick. Basically they just make the (...)   Re: When is a Slope not a Roof Tile? (WAS: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) Ummm... The 2xN slopes are 45 degrees. In LDraw measures, the sloped surface is 20LDU deep x 20LDU high. Of course, the 4LDU lip at the bottom of the part throws off the overall slope when you build with these pieces. The sloped surface on the (...) (23 years ago, 19-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

(...) Under a huge greenhouse dome type construction. There are several famous SF references in books and movies that set a precedent for this. I remember a movie about a colonising spaceship that caried Earth's last trees (planet Earth suffered a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: we want....a shrubbery)

(...) That would be 'Silent Running' starring one of the kings of crazy (1), Bruce Dern. For anyone who has not seen it, its well worth renting. 1: A 'king of crazy' is an actor who can play insane roles really well. Bruce Dern was a Master. Others (...)   Re: we want....a shrubbery)

"Silent Running" with Bruce Dern a hippie sci-fi movie. You'll have to pack them in several Duplo egg pods around a central core. Or four of those trans dark blue corner domes from one of the monorails. (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
