Well, the shoulder is those techinc flex joints from the arms of the divers sets, the arms inside the space shuttles, etc...; and the elbows are these too, but for the very first pic (the one labled "pose") I used some seran(sp?) wrap to get (...)   Re: Mecha 02 Closeups

To quote a certian South Park character: "Dude! That kicks a**!" Seriously, that *is* the best mech I have ever seen. Friggin' scary... All of those pointy things going everywhere. An awesome psychological weapon.. How tall is it? It looks to be at (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Mecha 02 Closeups

I just posted a bunch of closeups and such of the "02" mecha or "Dark Marauder" as Dave Johann named it at our last LugoLA meeting. (URL) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build)

A not so quick word of thanks

At the risk of sounding like a windbag I’d like to take a few seconds to thank (in no particular order) a bunch of people who inspire me to build mecha. I didn’t thank anyone when I posted for “02” because I was doing the dramatic story thing. I’d (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations - Now with 30% Less Fat!

(...) Excellent ship, Mark. It has a very Star Wars feel to it. Maybe just the pieces you used... Like everyone else I like the way the back rotates. How long did it take you to build? Thanks for sharing. Now it's off to Brickshelf for some (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Mark's Lego Creations - Now with 30% Less Fat!

(...) Heh. I only buy any theme for parts anymore. (...) I like that piece too. It's just so versatile! I kind of stumbled across the technique when I was digging through my Technic parts. Originally, I was going to use a couple of gears and an (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

(...) Space Sucks(1), and Star Wars is only good for parts... that's my general viewpoint. :-) That said, I have to echo the chorus of gushing about your Skipray.   Re: A-wing fighter

Very nice, Jay. I think you've made an A-Wing that follows the LEGO design in size, yet you've achieved a better shape and curve than the LEGO model. Good job! ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.build)

  Re: Catalog of female minifigs?

There's also "Crystal Aput" in the Arctic Theme's Polar Base (6575), who has a common female head, but a unique torso, and (reputedly) "Haley Comet" in the largest of the SpacePort sets. You can see scans of Crystal Aput and the female Green Ninja (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.technic)

Locker 99 Minifig Reference adds Arctic minifig scans

Scans of the Arctic theme minifigs are now up on the Locker 99 minifig reference site at (URL) usual, there are scans of the figures in "full dress" (i.e. with their hoods) on the main Arctic page, and scans of them "nekkid", so that all the head (...) (...) Yes, my Skipray is two person only. If I had built it to scale, it would have been rather large. The wing rotation works very well. It's reasonably solid. ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
