(...) the (...) I like it! To me, it looks sort of like an insect, a kind of beetle. <IMO> For names, unless I have a very specific design in mind, I almost always build first and name later. For sleek ships, I use letters and numbers that go well (...) (26 years ago, 23-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: inspiration (was Re: Microfig-scale Thunderbolt II)

(...) Great! You want to do a Hawker Harrier? Actually, that one would be better at mini-fig scale than microfig. Is there a scale-name for "Technic models done at mini-fig scale"? Steve (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Re: inspiration (was Re: Microfig-scale Thunderbolt II)

(...) Battletech was, IIRC, originally an RPG. It's currently also a cartoon, a collectable card game, a PC game, and probably some others that I've missed. You can probably find some links at the publishers of the CCG, (URL) , which is the only URL (...) (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: inspiration (was Re: Microfig-scale Thunderbolt II)

(...) Typically, that's true for my stuff, but this one is based upon the very real USAF A-10A Thunderbolt II (aka "Warthog") tank killer / ground attack fighter. The latest issue of _Smithsonian Air & Space_ has a pretty interesting article on it. (...) (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

inspiration (was Re: Microfig-scale Thunderbolt II)

(...) another great microfig model, sproat. i get the impression some of your models (and other creators' stuff too) is based on novels, cartoons, or even computer games but i can never figure out where these items originate. would you mind telling (...) (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Lego Computer

(...) I've had lego at work for a couple of years. So far, I've only had one minifig go missing (and that was when I was temporarily parked at a different building for several months (but still kept my permanent cubicle)).   Re: LDraw parts in 16 colors...

(...) Just pulled down the zips... Boy, a cable modem is sure nice when you find a site that has the throughput to feed it. Hitting 200+ K/sec and it only took 8-10 sec to download each 2M zip. Wow, Tom. That was a lot of work you did to put all (...) (26 years ago, 20-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

Dead Dino Exhibit at the Legopolis Museum of Science

Well the main problem with the ship is that with the 928, 924, 918 ships the wing space slowly gets smaller but still keeps the same width of windshield, this one couldn't really get any smaller compared (...) (...) Nope, in 2 years, not ONE piece has gone missing. (...) That's easy - IF I favor the new model over the old, I drive into work and get the piece, as I only live 3 miles from work ;-) However, I've only done this ONCE so far - I'll usually just (...) I like this. The photography is really great. You need a good backdrop for your pictures to enhance the setting. Something spacey that will make your ship appear bigger. Keep them coming. -- Bob Fay The Shop (URL) wrote in message (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: My best model yet!

(...) Pretty sleek-looking! I like it, but I have to say that the 1200YF is still my favorite. Those large pod-shaped bulkheads on the "wings" almost look like cargo holds. Is it primarily a carrier for support fighters, or would it be more useful (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)

  My best model yet!

I just finished a new model last night. I't took only 2 days to build (not the whole days, I work you know ;) Anyway, I think it is my best yet. It inloved a lot of non-standard building with lots of angles and flipping the studs-up directions. I (...) (26 years ago, 19-Feb-99, to lugnet.build)
