Re: Cheap sets for buildings (Was: The cost of minifigs)

As Shiri says, 6097 is the perfect choice for castle parts these days. It is cheap, easily available, and has a wide range of parts. It was on sale a while back at kbkids.com for only $25! The downside of this is that nearly every LUGNET'er has a (...) (25 years ago, 21-Apr-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

(...) I don't know for sure, but I'd bet on: -grey brick packs -a 6097 (or two or three, or eighteen) on clearance from kbkids.com Any number of 6097s will supply you with the cool arched windows, as well as grey arches; also I think it has a few (...)   Cheap sets for buildings (Was: The cost of minifigs)

(...) Urg. Now I'm depressed. :-P (...) Does anyone have any advice as to which sets are more cost-efficient for raw building-building materials?   Re: New Pic of my Confederates

(...) They are not really that hard to do. So I would say there is no need for to buy them off ebay. It does cost alittle to buy supplies at first. (...) I have a couple photos on my web page of my skyscraper (well, kneescraper...) (URL) is just walls made of 1x bricks, and stands 34L by 32W. The floors are the green baseplates, held up by 2x plates. The advice I would give is to butress both (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: Need help making a skyscraper

(...) All I can say is make sure you put plenty of supports in it, so it don't collapse on itself. And get a lot of one color of brick. I have seen a LEGO Chrystler Building on the net, but I'll be darned if I can remember where. It stood like 8 (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Pic of my Confederates

Wow, These look even betterthan the earlier ones, although my fave is still the guy withthe sword. I'd buy em if they werein stores, not just because I like the idea of confederate troops, but there is an element of quality craftsmanship here. Those (...)   Re: New Pic of my Confederates

(...) These figures look great. They are some of the best custom figures I have ever seen. I would really like to know the supplies and process you used. With results like these I might try this myself! Howie. (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.western, lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Re: My Mecha Unveiled!

Nice Mecha. It looks a lot like one of the Gundam Mobile Suits from Gundam Wing (especally the sword). I'm just a beginner though;-) Dan P.S. The name should be something scary in Latin like Deus Ex Machina or Hades (I know thats not latin) (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Any good neo-classical buildings out there?

Hey, Have any of you built neo-classical styled buildings? I have yet to attempt this. The only good example I can think of is Gary Istoks classical museum: (URL) anyone know of other examples? (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: A custom X-men archangel ...

(...) What are you talking about? Go look around at custom Star Wars figures. No one says that it's someone else's design, you're inspired, but it's not like Craig owns the rights to a Flash minifig. And it's not like he used one of craig's methods (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: less messy getting rid of the print on minifigs

  Re: A custom X-men archangel ...
