  Great Wall of China

I know this MOC has been done a few times but I added a small twist: The turrets, road, and wall get smaller from the front of the model to the back of the model. I hoped that this would add to the illusion of an extended depth. (URL) More pictures (...) (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

(...) Ditto. This is a great Joe Vig vig! Well played, Josh! "Big Daddy" Nelson (17 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Yes, I see that that arch was last used in 2000, but a similar one (3x6x5) seems to have replaced it (2000-2006). (...) Although in this instance, I hardly think that part of a Belville Desk would interfere with a Designer Victorian arch. :) (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) As we've found out bit by bit from Lego model designers, there's a LOT of rules about what can and can't be used and why! As other have said, it might be because of cost or availability, but it might be for other reasons too! For instance, (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) --snip-- (...) As the other respondants have mentioned set designers have to use the part selection very carefully to minimise costs. A Victorian arch piece is an extremely specialised piece which would probably be used only in two or three (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Did they go into specifics on why they can't use it? It looks like the last time that part was released in a set was 2000, and I know that when they are designing a set, each part/color combo will have a "price" assigned to it, which will be (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

I love the plateless vig concept. Nice work! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

(...) Quite possibly its simply the case that this part is not currently being produced. (or on the list of "parts designers can use in sets at this time") Peeron says the last time the arch was used in a set was in 2000. Remember that TLC (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Would this Victorian Gazebo Make a Good LEGO Set??

Folks, I built this little 115 piece structure about a year ago. For American AFOLs this little confection would be familiar sight, since such Victorian Queen Anne style gazebos can be found in small town squares and city parks all across America. (...) (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Joe Vig and the Ninjas

Duck Joe! Excellent camo, Josh. Truthfully, I didn't see the second ninja at first. Uhh, there are only *two* ninjas in the scene, right? ;) ---Will (17 years ago, 7-May-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)
