Re: Jaguar Main Battle Tank and variants

Mladen, (...) Thanks, I somehow wondered if you'd get a kick out of this! (...) I suppose another problem might be that since the guns are off-centre, the recoil would jerk the turret to the right or left a bit, which could be uncomfortable for the (...)   Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

(...) I know nothing about aircraft, but I do know this model is fantastic! Lots of excellent building techniques. The cockpit and landing gear catch my eye right away, as to the different layers that make up the wings. Another stunning replica from (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  A Little Fun

Just seeing how much "mileage" I can get out of a simple model. ;o) Super-duper mini balloon tires, for the frugally-minded: (URL) Oops: (URL) Okay, you amazing train-buildy-people, I don't think I've seen an engine quite like this one out of (...)   Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

(...) It looks excellent! I'm a big fan of the windshield, how did you make it? Is it stiff plastic or flexible? (Yes I'm considering making a custom windshield for one of my own mocs) Nice work on the landing gear also. Have you ever tried studs (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

Ralph, Very nicely done (again)! You've used limited but helpful SNOT techniches and come away with a great model. The nose especially is just beautifully done, and I like the missile designs. And you've clearly come up wotha very smooth way to fold (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

(...) Ralph, I grew up very close to Langley AFB, home of Tactical Air Command and the first F-15 squadrons. Your design rekindles some sweet memories of watching eagles take off doing a 90 degree climb with afterburners. Every detail is perfect on (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: got Cheese?

Hello Nelson! I cool Idea the Cheese Bots! I like the Nacho Bot very much! Great creation! It looks like a robot lion. Amazing! I think about a rebuild in Blacktron Style... Regards Dan (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: WIP - Red Quad

Hello Eric! (...) The legs show a high flexiblity! Great! Why are there wheels on the feets? Are there wheels so that they feets legs do not slipping away? I think a time abot the Mindstorms NXT and I think about how to use this in a Mecha. Nice to (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.robotics.nxt, FTX)

  Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

(...) Hi Dave, Thanks for the comments. I too was into building model kits, as well as building with LEGO. I'm not much of a painter, so the model kits rarely turned out quite the way I wanted them to, so actually building planes with LEGO was a (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Torii Gate vignette

(...) Hi Aaron. If you are referring to the brown tile on the very top, they are secure and are not resting. There is a 1 x 2 tile in the center, and a 1 x 6 on either side of it. One end of sits up on the 1 x 1 round plate at the end while the (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Micro Scale Notre Dame Cathedral

  Re: WIP - Red Quad

(...) Ah-ha! That explains my strange building habits lately. Hopefully the merger will mean I'll get an equal portion of the extensive Sophie part collection. I mean, if you doesn't know where he got it, you won't miss it right? -a (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: F-15E Strike Eagle

Hey Ralph, VERY impressive! As a younger man, I was very into plastic model kits of jet fighters, and the F-15 is still one of my faves. I can tell it is one of yours too! The attention to detail throughout is superb, especially on the angle of the (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: Micro Scale Notre Dame Cathedral

  Re: Torii Gate vignette

(...) Nice solution. I was currently trying to work out how to make one myself for a project with heavy oriental themes. I think I will be borrowing this One question. How well do the plates stay on top, is it secure or are they just resting on top? (18 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  ULUG Train Show

Re: Micro Scale Notre Dame Cathedral

Arthur, Very nice work, I like how you used some non-obvious pieces for the various windows! I'm not sure I'm sold yet on the mixing of grey and bley, but you've done it better than I've seen it done before. Thanks for sharing! Magnus (18 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Micro Scale Notre Dame Cathedral

(...) Very nice. Especially pleasing to me is the mixing of new and old gray. I do it a very often and just love the effect. So many stone type buildings have different hues to them and I think the mixture of the two grays ads realism. Excellent. (...) (18 years ago, 29-Jan-07, to lugnet.build.microscale)
