Henry, Thanks for coming by to see my Eiffel Tower in person and for posting the message on Lugnet. The round plates where necessary because the width of the tower changes from an even number to an odd number, back to even and then odd. I had hoped (...) (...) I was originally aiming for minifig scale, but it wasn't coming together, so I just followed where the bricks led me. Eric Brok made excellent and creative use of the UFO pieces which lots of people shamelessly copied later (me included... need more UFO hulls...) Check them out, under 'buildings' (...) When the UFO stuff first came out, I scoffed at them (because I'm more into town than space). However, I decided that I wanted to build a merry-go-round and the circular pieces would make a good top. So, I bought two UFO sets. I never was able to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Mar-00, to lugnet.build.arch)
