  ISD Build competition

First, let me fall on my sword about this, I am very very late in posting this info and I sincerely apologise. As I said in this post: (URL) and down thread...   Re: Good night... and may your god go with you

(...) Thanks Jason. (...) Yes, I think it was bottomless :) In fact he used to joke that he lost his finger when he let the end of it rest too long in his whiskey. But I think his poison of choice may have been Irish whiskey ;) (...) They seem to be (...) (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Good night... and may your god go with you

(...) Very nice tribute. I especially like the glass of scotch on the table. I didn't know he'd died though. Mind you, the great Fred Dibnah popped his steam-powered clogs last year and I never knew... :-( Jason R (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Octagonal building technique: help!

I used the parts linked above to make some octagonal towers in a large castle MOC I built recently. At the bottom, I attached two opposite sides (parallel) to the supporting pieces below the tower, and then let the other 6 sides "float", just (...) (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: A small car

(...) It's a solid first attempt. I'd recommend using tiles on some of the studded surfaces if possible. Spoilers are tough. I haven't come up with a satisfactory solution beyond the big racing type spoiler found on my Mustang. For detail, I think (...) (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.build)

Grand Central Station and 2 wide trains

I finally unpacked (and had to partially rebuild :( ), the micro-scale station I displayed on Brickfest. I made some pictures, including many of the back or the station, because that part was hard to see because of its position against the wall. (...)   Re: Ball Joint Frame ZRX1 version

(...) Thank you, that was part of my goal for this excersize. Leads one to appreciate like when your in art class and your drawing a nude subject. I'd really like to pursue emulating poses I see in real life with the ZRX1. I know some dancers, (...) (20 years ago, 13-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: THX1138 Vignette

(...) Thanks Bruce, That featureless white expanse was a striking image from the movie. Few directors could go there and pull it off.   Re: Ball Joint Frame ZRX1 version

(...) Hits some cool poses. I'd like to see some close up pics of the specific joints. Does it hold much weight? I don't see any doubles or stiffening a la Snead.   Removing dots from baseplates

  Re: Octagonal building technique: help!

(...) On that note, there's a few particular sizes of 45 degrees that work well enough within Lego tolerances. Like, a 45 degree wall of length 7, 17, 24, 33, or 41 will all join up with the hinges Ondrew mentioned, and be pretty darn close to (...) (20 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Octagonal building technique: help!

  Octagonal building technique: help!

I am in the process of creating a building that has eight sides. Four of them were easy to create as they are either perpendicular or parallel to each other. The problem is with the other four sides.
