  parlugment on ice: beavertails

in a previous (URL) post>, i outlined some details of parlugment's most recent show, winterlude on ice. another moc created specifically for this layout features a part of the staple diet of the crazy canuck during the wintertime. in this (...)   Re: Custom Tread Links

That's some nice work. I have been looking for some way to make custom garage door Your design has inspired me to make some variations: Design 1: (URL) of your design base on 3L lift arm and 3L stud-less beam. The chain is strong but the large plate (...) (20 years ago, 13-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

"David Eaton" <deaton@intdata.com> wrote in message news:IBtK0H.6EA@lugnet.com... (...) They seem much less likely to pop off if you can get them to snap on properly. And I really mean snap on, with an audible snapping sound. I've had 1x3 plates (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering)

(...) As I said before, that was 90% of the work... creating a palette of LEGO colors that were exact. A lot of trial-and-error was involved. Since my color mosaic of my girl looks exactly like the computer-generated image, I feel I was successful (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

(...) (URL) Yes>. (URL) These reduce the distance from the wheel surface, and with the addition of a hinge brick top, can be effectively driven by a 24x43 wheel+tyre. Of course they could also be easily reduced to a 2x8 footprint. ROSCO (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) I actually tried that, hoping that they'd stick well, but sadly the links seemed to pop off pretty easily. We sorta had the same problem with NELUG's quarry display, since the plates or bricks we stuck to the conveyor belts would keep popping (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering)

(...) Even if every website had the same value for 'blue', it seems obvious that even TLC is sending out 'blue' parts that vary from a single color... (URL) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) You can easily get eight wide tracks with the conveyor links, simply attach a 1x8 plate or tile across two lniks spaced appropriately. The conveyor links are designed to accept 1xn plates where n is greater than four. Steve (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering)

(...) Every website uses different RGB-values (I did too). So which one is EXACT? (Have you read the post on the HP night bus? Many shades of the same colour...) Example: Red (196,40,27) on (URL) (196,40,27) on (URL) (223,0,50) on (URL) (189,56,38) (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) Huh-- I never remember what the right format is for an image inside the link. I just copied it off of someone else's post that showed up in FTX, and used that. Worked on the preview, so I assumed it was right :) I'm guessing that it not (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) That's just because he forgot to put a space in front of '<' (FTX should really enforce this!). Cutting out the essentials gives us: (URL) does work (at least for me). (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) Huh! I hadn't thought of that, but those old links might work since they've got studs on 'em. If only they were available in quantity (and for cheap!) (...) Yeah, most of what I see is conveyor links. Initially I was planning on using about (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) The URL's are configured for Lugnet's web view (news and mail readers probably can't see them easily)-- they seem to work ok on the web interface at the moment (unless you mean that my webserver was temporarily unavailable). For the FTX (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) Ever thought of the old gears, like from (URL) this> set? I actually don't have any but it seems a small one might work for what you are describing. This is pretty cool Dave. Usually the big treads I see are modified conveyer belt links. Can't (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Custom Tread Links

(...) Your picture links don't seem to work, which is a shame as I'd be interested to se how they work. Steve (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: 4883 + tyre = American truck

(...) Hi Nathanael, Looks great! There are some clever SNOT elements you've included with it. It's really neat how you used the Wedge 4 x 4 x 2/3 Curved ((URL) see Peeron>) to give contours to the sides instead of having flat "walls" on the sides. I (...)   Custom Tread Links

So, I need big treads. About 400-500 studs long total, and about 8-studs wide. I've jury-rigged some prototype treads, and I'm fairly happy with them, but I'm curious to see some other examples. Anyone know of any? Here's what I've got so far: (6 (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Today's offer from JJ's furniture store: Spanish Wall

Hey Jojo, Very nice. I always thought of these screens as Japanese for some reason. This MOC makes me think of that Monty Python sketch in the marriage counselor's office. Bruce (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Comparing techniques (Error Diffusion Dithering)

(...) LOL, this is available at a dozen well-known LEGO websites including Peeron. Now you can add those RGBs to your 'program'. It seems silly to me to create a LEGO mosaic... using colors that are far from the colors of the corresponding LEGO (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)
