(...) Ah, ha. I see it now. The loop is on the handle of the metal detector, creating stress, and helps keeps your legs where you want them. Cool. I really like that model. That set was my second "big" LEGO set as a kid (after 487 Space Cruiser) as a kid and was the basis for hours and hours of play.
