Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks, Bruce. This was one of those situations where I felt I just barely had enough of the right pieces to make the scene work -- to give the illusion of a vineyard. I only have one brown baseplate, and just enough brown plates to make it (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks! (...) Was there a giant rock in Life of Brian? I remember the stoning scene, but don't recall a giant rock. Or did you just mean that it was similar in that there was a stoning scene at all? (...) Certainly, -Brendan (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Smallest smooth cube challenge

(...) Oops...that's not quite true. It's actually 2.8 x 2.8 x 3 studs: (URL) 4 and 5 stud ones are exact though :) --Bram (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim)

Re: The Parable of the Many Murders

(...) Thanks. (...) I wonder how many people there are for whom that has come to be the case. Or, as I continue on, how many people will eventually be in the same boat. (...) Hey, that's not entirely true. I think I've cast Timmy in some (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Smallest smooth cube challenge

(...) Great challenge, Dave! I gave this a shot for about 45 minutes. I made a 3x3x3...but it has two tiny square holes (4x4 LDU) It uses 18 parts. (...) Hmm, my 4x4x4 took 24 pieces, but it's very sturdy. Half of those are 2x2 tiles though. It (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim)

The Study of Spring: Study 14

At the last LUGOLA meeting I told the gang "I'm going to take some photos and tear it(the bridge) down." Well, I came close. My goal has been to place an arch beneath a curved deck and (URL) Study 12> was a first go but just wasn't quite it. I tried (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: How do you guys do it?

I've only been out of my dark ages for about two years. It was the Star Wars sets that caught my eye. I bought a couple and remembered how much fun LEGO is!! The next step for me was downloading instructions from Brickshelf.com for the old sets I (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build)

Re: New Mecha - The Klymyth

(...) Gait matrix is an old Robotics 101 term. It is representation of the temporal sequence of leg motions that a robot needs to walk without falling over. It gives the legs their coherent propulsive movement. Any autonomous walker needs to have (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: **New MOC**

(...) sorry i didn't post this earlier, but i really like this mecha.it has a very disproportionate "anime"look exemplified by the large feet and hands, narrow torso, and long neck. it's almost "cute". is this a replica of an actual anime mecha or (...)   Smallest smooth cube challenge

So, out of curiosity, I started toying around with the smallest possible Lego-cube that is smooth on all sides. IE no studs, stud holes, technic pin holes, etc showing on any of the 6 faces. Getting a 6x6x6 stud cube wasn't too hard... a 5x5x5 was (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.schleim)

  RE: Ribbed panel construction idea

There are 2 versions of the 1x2 with handles...1 is dropped by 1/2 a plate height and the other is level. -----Original Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com [mailto:news-gateway...net.com]On Behalf Of Jason J Railton Sent: Thursday, March 25, (...)   Re: Ribbed panel construction idea

(...) I meant that I thought the newer version wasn't entirely level either, but I could be wrong. Jason Railton (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New Mecha - The Klymyth

(...) I understand what you are saying. I think this depends on the vertical range of the gait. The higher rise of the feet, the more the quad tips when using three feet to balance. Could you please educate me about "gait matrix"? I've not heard of (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ribbed panel construction idea

(...) I had thought that, t would reduce the rare piece count but would reduce the strength (actually it reduced it in one direction and increase it in another, hmm does it even need the strength there?)   Re: Ribbed panel construction idea

(...) It's an interesting idea. You could alternate 5-studded 'dalek' bricks with 1-stud technic 'tumble-dryer' bricks along the centre line. Have you tried building this for real yet though? I thought that all the 1x2 plates with handles had at (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Ribbed panel construction idea
