Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Me thinks thou doth confuseth two issves. ;) (...) Yes, watch out for spending too much money on 'storage' containers at first.   Re: Japanese Koi

(...) Todd Nice Job! It looks really great. I like the luminacity the clear bricks give it. It almost looks wet! You might think about giving it a name! I'm gonng suggest you name it "Mack"!   Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) When I do sculpture kinds of things, I find LEGO graph paper extremely useful. Search Google to get some. Also build stuff in LDraw format when you don't have the pieces you need. (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) All Lar has posted here are excellent to go by. I would like to add one more- draw it! When I was in grade school, I didn't have the bricks in front of me to work with but I did have a pencil(or pen) and paper. All too often ideas for new (...) (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

(...) Ooops... You know what? You're right! I think I mixed up a couple different posts in my head. Yes, it was Kevin's suggestions I was thinking of. Thanks! (...) Ditto! Allan B. (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) I think the subject of money has been covered elsewhere in the thread. But the subject of time can also be a tough nut to crack. Finding time can sometimes be hard but it can be done, as sure as you can find time to change the oil in your car, (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

(...) -Major Snippage- (...) To further what Larry P. mentioned in a previos post, as well as Kevin Salm's above...   Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Welcome aboard, Dave! I don't have much to add to the wisdom already dispensed on this thread, but here are a few other suggestions to help you in your building (some of these may be repeats). 1. Start with a cool first name. (You seem already (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Japanese Koi

I got to see this in person at NWBC 2003. It rocked my pants then, and it rocks my pants now. The use of dirty clear and trans-orange parts for scales is too cool. I always look at sculptures like this with a certain awe, hopefully soon I'll have (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: How do you guys do it?

Nick (...) I have no idea what the size of my collection is, other than it's a bit bigger than comfortably fits in the room it's in (which currently also houses me and a laptop, which shall soon expand to a full-sized pc workstation). I bought some (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) Dave, As someone who is slowly getting back into building, the biggest turning point in getting back on the horse was sorting my collection. It was less than 40k pieces at the time, and it took a while, but here are the benefits: - In "dustin' (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

  Japanese Koi

Well, just for look see. Thought i'd post a link to a sculpture I completed not too long ago. Japanese Kohaku Koi with the Sandan pattern (URL) is roughly 3 1/2 ft in length. It has probably the right body mass size for a real koi of mature age, of (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.general) !

  B.I. Joe's new face

Well...perhaps not a new face entirely, but a spruce up splash graphic. For those old skool fans, an attempt at recreating a 'brickified' version of the classic 'Slient Interlude' #21 Marvel comic. (URL) Cheers, -Gil (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build.military, FTX)
