Hello again guys and gals, I see I'm not the only one trying their hand at mech. (URL) Mine based off the Gla Gla Armature.> Pre-moderation goodness: (15 URLs) I'd be pleased to hear any comments or criticisms you may have. Thanks!   Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) Yes, you're right - two switches would have been entirely sufficient. I just wanted another switch so I could add a release valve, that's all. :) I think originally I wanted something in there so I could bypass the tank and pump directly to (...)   Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) They work for me now also. (...) I guess I was curious why you used pneumatics. I would think a motor/gear/rotation sensor would give you very fine angular resolution and variable speed. You also would only need to control either the front or (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: WWII Moc, UCS-style P-51

The gear are easily removable, I used technic friction pegs into technic plates with holes. The landing gear doors and rear gear also come off easily. I will be making a stand to display the model in flight. One thing I found out when I was trying (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) Hi Bauchaile, I don't post with in-line images because not everyone has broadband. (...) I love to see new pneumatic projects! I was curious why you needed three switches. It seems like a front switch and a back switch would be sufficient. It (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) Yeah, it does somewhat. One thing that helps is not to pressurize the tank all the way. If there isn't much pressure it doesn't "jump" as much and helps keep increments small. Another thing that's helpful is not to flip the switch all the way (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) It works for me...odd. Anyway, I made that post about half an hour after I uploaded the pictures, so I didn't think a moderated folder link would be much good. Now that it is moderated... (URL) for looking, ~Mike (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Pneumatic Camera Tilt Unit

(...) They work like a charm to me!? Cool use of pneumatics Mike, how is control? Pneumatics tend to "jump" from one position to another that would give a pretty non-smooth camera pan? The airtank (yours and the LEGO version); Does it really need an (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

  Re: First mech

(...) Oh wow, this is really cool. I rarely comment on mecha MOCs, but this is sure classy looking. Looks like the kind of toys I didn't have growing up, but all the neighbors did (I stuck to LEGO) :-) -Tim (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: First mech

(...) I like the clean look of the legs. The missile launchers rock, and dig that butt cannon. Nobody can sneak up on you. I think the sides of the cockpit can use just a little something, but it's really a minor thing. Sweet. -Grand Admiral (URL) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: WWII Moc, UCS-style P-51

(...) Wow! Beautiful work! (...) I've been interested in doing a warbird, and the lack of canopy parts has stopped me from making any type of progress. I'm surprised at how yours works so well. (...) I think that your choice of scale went a long way (...) (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: LEGO Sculpture: Crayola Crayon Box

(...) Wow! As usual, another fantastic creation. It would have been very spectacular even without the crayons - everything looks so realistic. Awesome, -Kevin (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  LEGO Sculpture: Crayola Crayon Box

Hi all, I'm glad I was able to complete this project in time for the upcoming DixieLUG meeting. A large box of Crayola Crayons built for the National Toy Hall of Fame: (URL) colors... cheers, eric (21 years ago, 6-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture, lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.announce.moc) !!

  Re: First mech

(...) *whistles* Wow. Your canopy design works out to be both effective and very unique...and the missile launcher looks better than anything else I've seen. The lack of studs makes it very sleek looking..although it seems a bit top-heavy. I've (...) (21 years ago, 5-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  WWII Moc, UCS-style P-51

It's been awhile since I've built anything, got in sort of a rut with mecha. I got the urge to start doing some WWII stuff and boy am I happy with this MOC. Check out some teaser pics: www.thomas-superwhee...51_011.jpg (...) (21 years ago, 5-Oct-03, to lugnet.build) !

  Re: it's finally here!

(...) streamlined and its rather hard to achive it with Lego. IMHO, your MOC is still far from the real thing but you've captured it in your very own style and personally, I like it. The spine joint tech you came up with is excellent. It gave me a (...) (21 years ago, 5-Oct-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
