The gear are easily removable, I used technic friction pegs into technic
plates with holes. The landing gear doors and rear gear also come off
easily. I will be making a stand to display the model in flight. One thing
I found out when I was trying to improve the auxilliary fuel tanks is that
they apparently don't make a 3x3 cone in light gray. I tried making them
with a 4x4 but they're just too big. For now I'm using black 3x3 cones on
the end of gray tanks. Wish it could be better, but I'm against painting
lego so that's the best I can do. The tanks I had in the picture were too
small, and dark gray anyway so I think these are better.
Thanks for the encouragement. I've been toying with an A6M2 Zero for my
next model.
