Way cool! I don't know much about Evas but I do know that they are very
streamlined and its rather hard to achive it with Lego. IMHO, your MOC is still
far from the real thing but you've captured it in your very own style and
personally, I like it.

too true, too true. the only way to capture the true organic form of the eva
using lego would be to make it much bigger.  however, i haven't the inventory
nor the dough to purchase that many. maybe someday (sigh).

The spine joint tech you came up with is excellent. It gave me a new idea to
work with. ;)

it's my brainchild.  that was the first thing i had to develop before building
the rest.  imo, the spine is what sets the evas apart from other mecha.  i also
plan on using it in future models.  although the pics don't show it, it is very
articulated.  it can twist and bend side-to-side as well.

One thing though, I don't see how your hip joint tech works and they look kind
of under articulated in your pics, or is it that they are meant to be that way?

intersting point.  actually, due to the overwhelming weight of the upper torso,
the hips had to be made as rigid as possible.  although the pics don't show this
one very well either, i used a technic toothed 1/2 bushing and a technic toggle
joint toothed.  that means that the legs can rotate on the y axis a few degrees
at a time while maintainig its rigidity.  unfortunately, the position i have it
in the pics seems to be the best one for balance, while any other position makes
the model topple over.  once again, these "conventional" joints were the best i
could come up with in terms of articulation due to the size of the mecha.  if i
made it bigger, than i could use worm gears and such and still make them hidden.
but for now, that's impossible.

And I have to say it again, awesome mecha!!
