Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

(...) I used to buy sets alot spending a lot of my money and only getting a few of the pieces that I really wanted. Now I just shop on bricklink. My lego collection was greatly increased when I started shoping there. I just go through the parts list (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Getting the stuff for mecha

(...) I've posted most of the relevant articles on this page: (URL) a compendium of most of the 'how to' of mecha building. It will be growing again shortly as I've found a couple of more things to add to it. Regarding how other people build, the (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Motorizing the pneumatics of set 8455 (Technic Back-hoe Loader)

About 2 weeks ago, I purchased the excellent Technic Back-hoe Loader. This is a wonderful set, but it was distracting to have to keep pumping whenever trying to run one of the controls. Therefore, I decided to install a motorized pump so that I (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

(...) that thing weighs 1984.16 lbs. Almost one ton of LEGO. :D Actually, there's a 120-kilo aluminium* body to hold it together, but still that means there's 780 kilos (1719.6 lbs) of plastic. *In American, that's "aluminum," and 264.55 lbs of it.
