Re: My site is down :-(

(...) Well, there is technically one way they can do it. They could spend gobs of money to register everything that you could possibly think of. I know Lucasfilm does that to a limited extent (type in the name of pretty much any major Star Wars (...) (21 years ago, 16-May-03, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

Re: New MOC: 6,000 piece Empire State Building

Ben: (...) Yes... they change the lights atop the Empire State Building all the time, according to a schedule that reflects the current time of year, or a holiday. For example, it is usually orange for halloween, or pink and yellow for easter. They (...) (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOC: 6,000 piece Empire State Building

(...) I think you captured this building very well in a different scale. Was there a reason for the red, white, and blue top? Is Empire State lit up that way now? Ben (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: My site is down :-(

(...) Oh? By means of a court case, sure, but can they legally stop you before you even register the name?   Re: My site is down :-(

(...) You're not using a standard character in the second case there, so I can't tell what you mean exactly, but I'm assuming you mean TM. The distinction isn't actually the one you're making; the full r-in-a-circle symbol means that the trademark (...) (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

Re: My site is down :-(

(...) Slight correction: You can't copyright names. However, they are covered by trademarks or service marks. The distinction is important, as they follow different rules than copyright does. (21 years ago, 15-May-03, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

Re: My site is down :-(

New MOC: 6,000 piece Empire State Building

All: I have just completed a 4.5 foot tall model of The Empire State Building: (URL) new model remains very faithful to the design of the real Empire State Building.   Re: My site is down :-(
