(...) What's even stranger is that the (canadian) horse drawn cart 'gauge' is 4 10 1/2, rather than 4 8 1/2. Cool. Most of this story has been around for a while, thanks for sharing. One nit I had heard in this story is that original gauge is 4 ft 8 rather than 4 8 1/2... when the first engines were imported here to the states the gauge was widened a bit (...) (...) It is the track gauge in mm. (4mm scale, 18.83mm track gauge). Fine scale modeling (and gauge is better to use here than scale, as P4 and S4 are different!). (...) Oh, I forgot about 1:76 scale. Some of the newer HOish scale military models are 1:76. I'm starting to remember that 1:72 scale came about because it was a little difficult to make some of the model railroading equipment at 1:76 or 1:87 scale, (...)
