One tip I have for those of you who'd like to build your own magic trick.
To make sure that the electric plate is never unintentionally revealed, I
used tiles instead of bricks on parts that are meant to be taken off that
touches the gray plates that covers the electric plate.
I also practiced the trick a few times before showing it to friends.

I wish I could claim deep thought insights, but yes, it was an accidental
discovery.
When I was little, I did try (as probably many of you did) to create a
perpetual engine by hooking two motors electrically AND mechanically. I
would spin the joined axles, and could not understand why the motors would
not continue to spin?! Darn friction! :-(

I've just recently purchased a digital camera (Olympus DR340), and been
taking pictures of anything within the visible wavelength ;-)
