sadly, no I can't when I post from my e-mail at home and I'm not posting from lugnet web interface, the e-mail service adds that automatically to every mesage that I send.   Re: slide-click joints

(...) I think this is a great suggestion for what Luke is trying to accomplish. Just place the tubing in the center of two long friction axels.   Re: slide-click joints

Interesting solution! I had tried the long pins and found that the end I wanted to stay stayed for the most part...but it wasn't reliable. Increasing the friction of one end is a novel idea indeed. I may just use it in the end. The option of making (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: slide-click joints

Interesting! Up until now, I had categorically dismissed all non-discrete forms of linear motion. Cam mechs are a wonderful idea! I gave them a try though, and sadly, didn't work out as I had hoped. As always, space-constraint was the issue. Don't (...) (22 years ago, 9-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: slide-click joints

Luke, I'm stummped too! Although I'm just not sure at what your trying to accomplish. Maybe these two pix can help. I use a Cam Mechanism to achive linear motion. The end out put is a controlled recipricating motion. see the pully wheel behind GG's (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
