I wish a "How do I build" contest

Hi all, Lugnet people say little about their building approaches. Do they start from the shape or from the bricks? How do they solve this chicken-egg problem? When putting bricks together how do they ensure continuous assembling opportunities while (...) (22 years ago, 2-May-02, to lugnet.build.contests)

(...) :) me too! Enterprise, West Wing, and Law and Order are my tv routine. (...) Whoa, Chris! Your situation rivals my own, but substitute 'extreme work hours' for 'school' and you'll see where I'm at. We're still in the process of opening our (...)   MOC: Small Time Bike

Sort of part of the Warp Boat project. (URL) had to abandoned the design then but it's now cleaner as I have had a bit more time to work on it. Best DaveG (22 years ago, 2-May-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Hey, Where is......

(...) Midterms, papers, Lab write-ups, etc. make Lego related activities difficult to persue for me. I usually procrastinate by picking up the Lego. It goes like this: 1) "All right! Time to get down to work. But let me check Lugnet first..." 2) (...) (22 years ago, 2-May-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: EVE/02: INTERCEPT AND DESTROY!!

(...) Looks Like we've got some serious girl power going on in build.mecha these days... Yeah, Eve 02 is pretty cool, man! As with most black mecha, it's hard to see all of the detail going on. (...) Yep, and you can use the same reasoning to explain geographical differences in Lego activity. Down here in the deep south (Texas), we've speculated that this is the reason for the apparent increase in AFOL activity as you go further north. (...)   Re: New Battle Carrier: HMS Venerable

(...) Thanks! (...) If you're referring to the green disks in the row that has the black strip running through it, those are actually guns mounted in open broadside ports. They're designed to be more powerful than the top mounted turrets, and fire (...) (22 years ago, 1-May-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Hey, Where is......

I have no good excuses. I haven't been visiting lugnet too mcuh lately. (from 3 or 4 visits a day to 2 or 3 a week.) I cleaned my house and don't have LEGO everywhere anymore. Well at least it is now out of the living room (except a few displays (...) (22 years ago, 1-May-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
