  Warehouse Detailing

Hi all, I'd like to solicit some ideas. This evening I just finished putting together a large warehouse-style building. It's 32 x 56 studs at the base, and stands about 18 bricks high (26 with the roof). The color scheme is: white walls, red trim, (...)   Re: Drawbridge help needed!

(...) (You are so right, ASCII art is difficult to see in Lugnet with IE5!) I think I got the idea. Curiously, I'm designing a garage door that resembles this, but in a different position... :-) There is a problem with this design, though: how will (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: Time to vote in the Town building contest!

(...) Ummmm, March 22nd? I'm hoping that correct cause I sent out the e-mail last saturday... Do I need to do it again? Josh (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Drawbridge help needed!

(...) From the side it looks a bit like this: +---+ | | | | <- counterweight | | +---+---+ <- hinge | | \ | \ | ---...--- <- bridge deck The sloped bit on the left is actually 1/4 circle, with teeth (curved rack), which is used to move the bridge. (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: WTC Design

(...) One idea: you can make several *paralell* stairs, starting one on each side - this way they never cross. Leonardo da Vinci used a similar idea in Chambord's Castle main staircase, I think, some 500 years ago, and it is still fantastic. Only (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: WTC Design

(...) The intersecting stairways are a result of starting two stairs on opposite sides. They could always be modified. Its the general principle thats important. Or made like a rolled up paper disc spiral with several added spirals about half way (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: WTC Design

(...) #1- How practical are emergency stairs that cross each other's way? The corners where they cross would create massive jams! Besides, they might have to be a little wider nearer to the bootom than on top, since more people would use them as you (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: Building My First Scale War Ship...

(...) Hmmm... My personal suggestion: start with a rough sketch, then try to detail it a little; once you decide exactly how the ship will look (measurements, detail level), choose the construction type (modular, layers, all-in-one). If you choose (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  WTC Design

Does anyone know how/whom to submit a design for the WTC? My design has very practical safety features such as outdoor emergency escape staircases and collapse proof design. The scene it was filmed for was cut. (URL) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

Building My First Scale War Ship...

Hi all I am going to attemp a Air Craft carrior like the size of danails jessims ships. and the varuios great ship builders of lego. I know I will be buying a lot of bricks . and I kind of know how much . but now sense I have the ship I want to (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Drawbridge help needed!

(...) I thought of using old "D-size" batteries; I used 4 of them, but they were not even close to enough. I'm thinking of placing them higher, and maybe "covering" the track with them - but, like I said earlier, space may become a problem. My dad (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Drawbridge help needed!

(...) The latter. I'm not sure if I can fit such a big structure behind the bridge, since it is possible that other structures may interfere with that placement of the counterbalance mechanism (namely, a possible crossing viaduct). I dunno, I must (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

As ussual, your onto something. Since I know zipo about HTML, I lucked out when I brought my Lap-top. It came loaded with a Web-builder program called "Trellix Web". Aaron & All, (...) Well, IIRC, that Amy had every single minifig (600+) she owned in this church, and it still wasn't enough. And much to my disappointment, she didn't want a few legions of Futuron's to help fill it up! : ) Scott S. -- (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)
