  Re: Abston Church of Christ

Amy, You have created a masterpiece which captures one thing that most Lego church MOC's have failed to include, The Lord. Most people have built thier towns to include a church but have never learned why a Church is a crucial element in every town, (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

(...) able to put in that much detail! The mosaics, organ, pews, stairs, baptistry ... everything is exactly as it should be. Truly amazing. Wow. --Bill. (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

Amy & All, (...) This is probably my favorite LEGO creations I have ever seen since I went online with the LEGO community back in 1997 or so. Amy, you have done an astounding job with this, and it is so incredible to finally having the pleasure to (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) <a la Bob Uecker> I must be in the front row! ;-) (...) You will miss him. We lost ours the last couple of years after having them 16 and 17 years. After about a year, we got 2 kittens, and there is joy in the household again, but we will (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Thanks, Jon. Ideas for a dedication sermon just kinda fell in my lap as I was reading the Psalms, so I put them to use. Amy (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Don't make me blush! :-) Thanks, John. Amy (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Thanks, Jason. Actually, that bump was an attempt to make a 3-stud-wide head look round. It didn't work, but it did occur to me that it looked like a minifig head stud, so I left it :-) "In His image", remember, and it's a minifig church. The (...)   Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Thanks, Bram. The 45-degree bump-outs along the sides is a pretty common design feature of 20-th century American churches. Carrying it around all the walls made the LEGO implementation easier (the roof would otherwise have odd-shaped panels), (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) He's hard to miss, isn't he? :-) (...) Take pictures now, with a 35mm camera. I'm sure glad I did. Amy (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Thanks, Stijn. Construction "only" took a year, and if you read the construction log you'll see that much of that time was spent goofing off :-) Amy (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Thanks, Tim. It'll stay assembled at least through the end of June. I plan to unveil a bell tower for this church June 27, the anniversary of my adopting Precious. The bell tower will go into a display with pictures and key pieces of the (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Abston Church of Christ

(...) Well done Amy. I don't see that anyone else has mentioned it - but beyond the building - excellent as it is - I very much appreciated the atmosphere you added to the project. In particular, I was very impressed by the sermon you included. (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.arch)

  The M-Wing

Hey guys. My m-wing was just added to FBTB. (URL) few construction notes: This ship does not have an M shape because I wanted one of the ships to be smaller than an A-wing. I figured M would be a good letter for this, (micro) and the fact that I (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.space) !

  More Gundam 06 pics

An action pose (It isn't actually holding up the gun, the arm is strong enough, but the fingers aren't) (URL) access cockpit: (URL) removed from one side for a skeletal cutaway: (URL) MS team style back rack for cargo pod.   Re: Yes, a good week for mecha

(...) I think there may be no limit to the level of refinement in lego model design one can attain. That's sort of a scary concept, isn't it, but we see that in many other areas of technology, computers, cars... "any sufficiently advanced technology (...)   Re: Yes, a good week for mecha

(...) Thanks. I wanted to make a basic serious gundam, agile looking, yet heavily armored. The wing gundams are kind of overstyled, for fighting machines. They look cool, but not like products of some future military industrial complex. As for the (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Yes, a good week for mecha

(...) Yep, the knees have worm gears, and the ankles, and the hips, allowing for many natural poses (though not sultry fembot poses). As for this being the last one, I'm going to rebuild 05 (which was a rebuild of 01) with the 06 technology, that (...) (23 years ago, 25-Mar-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
