I remember seeing your first two gundams in the "Cool Lego Site of the Week"
and thinging "those are absolutely perfect!"  It would have been difficult to
believe that you could have refined the designs as much as you have.

I think there may be no limit to the level of refinement in lego model design
one can attain. That's sort of a scary concept, isn't it, but we see that
in many other areas of technology, computers, cars... "any sufficiently
advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".

The feet are really impressive, how you matched the slopes to make a more >solid red border.

Yep, limitless design refinement at work.

Wow - only fifteen worm gears?  I would have thought that there were more
(especially after having seen your joint tech section).

(1 Ankle, 1 Knee, 1 Hip, 1 Wrist, 1 Elbow, 3 Shoulder) x 2 + 1 waist
Oops, miscounted, 17.

I'm curious, have your gundams been increasing in the range of articulation as
time has progressed?  I remember you mentioning that for your first two mecha,
the arms, etc. only moved so far out; have you been able to improve on that?
Any chance we can get some action poses?

Yes, the use of technic turntables on the hips and shoulders increased the
motion range over my earlier designs, though a lot of that range will
give unbalanced poses (the action happens when the massive gundam keels over).

Well, I'll be a little sad to see the new gundams end, but I'm very much
looking forward to seeing what new themes (and stories) you have in store for
us.  Will you build at the same scale?

I still have to do a satisfactory rebuild of 01, the red gundam, into 05.
As for the subsequent giant robots, they will be a bit bigger with new
technology.
