  Re: US S@H shipping 8448

Recieved mine on the 4th. It is simply incredible. One thing I really liked was that if you put a motor in it, you can make it run. Also, I put my Mindstorm RCX in the trunk(it slots in way too easily, as though it was meant too) and ran a wire to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: US S@H shipping 8448

I don't intend to fight over Lego with my future kids. Every single brick they get goes straight to daddy. Dead simple. I'll let family & friends know all my kids want for their birthdays is Lego. And I'll handle their want lists as well. :) If (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

  Re: New Technic Supercar 8448

I received the 8880 early this week and finished it over a couple of days. It is an awesome model to build. I changed a couple of small things I did not like. Then the 8448 showed up and I started it. I have the chassis finished and only the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Technic Supercar 8448

Actually, the day I ordered, it came out to $85 each. Unfortunately, shipping on 2 of them and a few small Paradisa sets was near $70! Still, at $115 brand new including shipping, it beats getting them at auction. Since I already have 2, 1 for each (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Technic Supercar 8448

Hands down, I'd get the 8880. Simply because before too long, you will ONLY be able to get them at auction, and prices will skyrocket even more than they occasionally do. You can buy the 8448 for a least the next year. Get an 8880 from DYA now, and (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Technic Supercar 8448

This discussion of the 8880 and 8448 Super Cars has been great. I don't own either yet, and find it difficult to decide between buying the older 8880 at auction or the 8448 new. For those familiar with both, if you had choose between one or the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) He spelled it wrong, so you don't need to stand corrected Bryce, you can sit down :) The word is ARMOURER (if you speak Brit English) or ARMORER (if you speak American English). Never an "OR" at the end. Kevin (25 years ago, 7-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  US S@H shipping 8448

I ordered a bunch of stuff this morning from Shop at Home, and much to my surprise, the rep said that they had just gotten in their 8448's and were shipping them. I'll be getting mine next Tuesday or Wednesday. Woo-hoo! -Tim (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

(...) Huh, interesting. I didn't use water extensively, but I tried it, and mine weren't ruined. And these would definitely have been the old style. (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Fluid inside Pneumatics

(...) As we learned in the robotics ng, air _is_ a fluid. :) Anyway, I know what you mean. I don't have any pneumatic stuff now, but I remember testing this as a kid and it worked fine. (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.build)
