Re: BT 1 Contest Entry for Thomas Tyers - Attn: Scrutinizer!

(...) IIRC, one doesn't need to be a member to be a poster, they just have to get clearance to post. I wasn't aware of any restriction of that kind re: the BT-I contest. LFB (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

BT 1 Contest Entry for Thomas Tyers - Attn: Scrutinizer!

I received an email from Thomas Tyers asking if and how he could enter the contest if he were not a lugnet member. His not being a lugnet member may cause complications when it comes time to begin voting (depending on however you're planning on (...)   Re: How's the submarine?

(...) It's coming along... but don't count on it soon... Let's say these things take time. :). Real subs take years to make. :D (...) Megablocks screw?????? (...) WOW!! Email Scott Sanburn or Chris Leach and maybe we can haggle somethin. Rick (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Engineering Specs?

(...) ACK! It'd be interesting to find out I guess, but lego ain't cheap, especially things like technic beams which are rare these days! I dunno, I think I'd stick to toothpics/popsicle sticks/whatever to actualy TEST bridge designs... ---SteveR (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Heckler & Koch MP5 sub-machine gun

(...) I thought the same thing! The SD suppressor made from a 4-macaroni clinder would be perfect... but that's SO much more macaroni...hehehe.. (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Heckler & Koch MP5 sub-machine gun

(...) Yup, I've got one sitting on my desk. It's got a little red on it, but oddly enough, I managed to get enough black macaroni. The red is some of the 3x2 wedges at the front. Black ones are on their way from brickbay. Once it's complete I'll add (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Engineering Specs?

(...) I my co-worker wants to buy Lego and bust them up, he can go for it. I've been telling him to do just that, and stay away from mine. (...) Well, this is where it gets kind of complicated doesn't it? Look how Lego links Technic beams together (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Engineering Specs?

sorry, 1x16 beams first bend and snap. Not shear. (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Engineering Specs?

(...) why not try it and find out? Since you don't use just one pin in a bridge, it rapidly becomes more complicated than a single number. You might want to test a 1x16 technic beam first, they shear pretty easily (like if you step on the bridge (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Makuta sighting

(...) But I'm xposting this to .build, because I took some time to browse your folders in general, and I'm impressed with your graphics output. You've got some really nice cover images and concepts in there, all composed very well (even the "Bad (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.build)

  How's the submarine?

Hey Rick (and anyone else doing the submarine thing), How's the submarine coming along? (Are you going to break down and use the MegaBloks screw?) The initial proofs of principle looked promising, and I'm wondering how it's going. Also: too bad (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.military)

  Hs132 Jet Divebomber Resource

Gary and all, sorry to redirect this thread a bit, but I thought I should share: (...) The glazed nose is still an issue I haven't gotten around--all of my solutions just screw with the proportions a little too much. But I have found some excellent (...)   Re: New mech: Sensei Trainer

(...) Bravo, bravo. I think you've got the essence of something here. Barebones model. I particuarily like the "eye" What I find most intriguing about this guy is the potential. Think, not only is it a trainer but build on it a little and you have a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Engineering Specs?

I was talking to a co-worker, an engineer, and he asked me about engineering specs on Lego. I've looked around a little bit but haven't found anything. See he wants to build bridges and such to see what kind of load he can put on it. So anyway, does (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.build)

Rick Hallman <legodude725@removeaol.com> wrote in message news:GopIq5.Ltv@lugnet.com... (...) Very cool work!   A small catapult built with set # 4806

I got the <set:4806 Axe Cart> in a class Christmas game today. I built a little catapult. It can rotate 360 degrees, and it often functions quite nicely. Here's a picture of it: (URL) Is this a rare set? (URL) has it for $7.00!) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) You can use the old Throwbot gear boxes. Two put together and then click in a technic beam on one end. My Q model uses this in the legs and hips giving it slender and strong legs. Someone suggested to me that the design would benifit an EVA (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  all my mecha

this is my first post, and i just wanted to ask if anybody has any reliable hip joint designs for medium to large bots? (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Evangelion construction

(...) It depends on the width of the legs and the total weight of the model. If you have thin legs (no more than 4 studs) and a light Eva, using several click hinges in parallel will do the trick. Ebay is a good sources for large numbers of click (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
