Re: Request for help: bomber gun turrets

Glad to have been a help, I spent some more time on it the other day, but I couldn't find a design that was compact, and worked, glad you found a solution though! Can't wait to see the final product! -Geordan- (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New MOC: 8 wide Lotus Esprit S4

(...) Yeah, I see; it's unfortunate LEGO doesn't have a 1x3 with 2 studs on top with half stud offsets (using the 1x2 tiles with single stud on top makes going from 3 studs to 2 very flimsy!); as for the 2x4 plate... hmm, you're right, I can't think (...)   Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) You might have a point, this time, but you got lucky. I'll stand behind my comments, you were way off topic and ought to know better. ++Lar (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Request for help: bomber gun turrets

(...) I was able to get the helicopter windscreen to work the way you suggested - thanks! Instead of the 4x4 dish, though, I used the "Windscreen 5 x 2 x 1 & 2/3": (URL) was able to mount it using SNOT techniques at about a 60 degree angle so that (...)   Re: gestalt robots

(...) I was working on a 3 mech combiner-type, but got a bit sidetracked...you can see the #2 module here: (URL) is the QMDO-02 "Quasimodo", and would form the arms of the combined 'bot. The #1 and #3 modules would be the head and torso/legs (or (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) To Jason and Cary: It's actually pretty sturdy. The only real potential weak spot is where I have stacked the thin walls with the 1x2 dark gray plate in between them. If you will notice the row of plates onto which the grill tiles are (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) I'm assuming floors would add a lot of strength... as well as adding to the realism (even if undetailed... a big hollow shell doesn't look right unless it's supposed to be a big hollow atrium) (...) So do you have a custom carved shell you use (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.trains.org)

How do you plan to transport it -- or is it stronger than it looks? So far I've (...) (23 years ago, 21-Sep-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: New Building (light gray)

(...) Neat. All those thinwalls are pretty impressive. How sturdy is this? It looks extremely fragile. <snip> -Jason PS Maybe you could have a little train car (2 wide or something) next to each of your buildings so the "FUT Police" wouldn't harass (...)
