  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Hi, Mark! Were I to give advice to someone just starting out (and I guess I am), I would tell them to start out in the 8-12 inch tall range. Make sure you have a good way to do the joints (most people these days use SW click hinges and technic (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: Thousand Astronomical Unit Probe (NEF)

(...) Looks good. It's definitely a very interesting idea. For some reason it reminds me of V'Ger. I really like the midsection with the tanks. Now if there was just more time in the day to explore ideas with legos. </me contemplates organic ships.> (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

Re: MOC: Thousand Astronomical Unit Probe (NEF)

(...) You knew that you would get my attention with this one, right? I'm working in this same time frame, the near future. I hope to give you some company soon. Nice model, faithful to the Daedalus concept. Those saucer sections are becoming more (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Well I am definitely not a expert, I've still got about 359 more degrees to go on the mecha learning curve, but I'll try and give you some hopefully helpful info anyway. Don't try to do anything really big right off the start, start small and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

(...) Like anything LEGO, it's really up to you. What scale are you going for? Minifig, microfig, nanofig, something else? My favorites, the origami mechs, are all about finding unique uses for standard parts...minifig hips and legs as fingers, for (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: LEGO Animals

There's a pony in Belville 6418 Country Club. "Jason Maxwell" <jhmaxwell@home.com> wrote in message news:GHEHrG.52w@lugnet.com... I've updated the list with all the currently living/real animals (no dinos, dragons, Star Wars, etc.) since that's what (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

  Questions... (Warning: NEWBIE Alert.)

Hi, I'm Mark and I have been trying to build a mecha. Somehow my try doesn't look right. So I put my question to you Mecha-Experts. Are there any specific aspects that a Mecha should have? I mean, the 6949 Robo-Guardian and the four Roboforce models (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

MOC: Thousand Astronomical Unit Probe (NEF)

Hi everyone, I've been working off and on since Brickfest with my latest project, a "NEF" (Near-Earth-Future, an odd-sounding but standard term) extrasolar survey ship. I'm operating in the relatively unpopular grey zone that a few of us like, the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: Timid Newbie Strikes!!

(...) Check out the dates on the pictures. :> Seriously, I'm going to keep the Nova together, sort of. I've been refining it, swapping out bits and pieces and revising the design ever since it was first built. Don't see why that can't continue until (...)   Re: Timid Newbie Stikes!!

Welcome Chris! Nice, nice mecha, very nice mecha. I saw these earlier today. Any chance of snapping a pic of the hip joint(s)? The red one looks way cool IMO and the transforming one is sweet too. Great work, I hope to see more from you! -Geordan- (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

I feel I must respond. ;) (...) 1. Never got around to locating a digital camera till now... and my personal camera is one of those no-focus $50 ones... no zoom. ;_; 2. Erm... I dunno. (...) Hi Chris! Welcome to LUGNET! I really like your mecha. The tranforming Supernova looks awesome, as does the Musashi. Very cool mecha.   Timid Newbie Stikes!!

Err, hi folks... allow me to innerduce myself... I'm Chris. I built a cheesy little mech a few years ago, before I ever knew that other people did this. Thankully, I've got a bit better. My collection is not what you might call large... just one (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Maybe you guys didn't read the last message

I'll admit it, I'm suitably impressed. Mecha in that design are tough enough to get standing properly, but if it has true articulation on a mecha that size then...wow! From the pics, it appears to be roughly four times the size of my Warthog (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Oops I gotta get the Lego out of my ears! Yes, that thing is huge! I like me a big bulky powerful looking Mech! Hey the canopy is unfamilar to me, I'm slacking! The others show more of his style....cool! Good work! Eric (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
