Re: LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport

(...) This tower is similar (But I think, bigger...) to the one that is in the Duplo(tm) area at the Museum of Science and Industry. They have a Hancock too. (25 years ago, 16-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: 5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

there is a turn corner gable brick. if you want tee or cross you can also use the brick that is like a 1 x 2 gable brick with a slope on the end. this fits against another slope and you can use that. (25 years ago, 16-May-99, to lugnet.build)

5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

I got some red roof bricks from S@H and as I was trying to build a (small) roof structure, and noticed that there is not a brick that will turn a corner at the ridge of a hip roof (or gabled roof for that matter). There is also not a brick that will (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport

I am already back home. Wouldn't you know that one of the last things I did before I left this morning was take my digital camera out of my bag before I went to Chicago. So, no pictures this time but I go through O'Hare frequently enough (at least (...) (25 years ago, 15-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

Re: LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport

This sounds terrific, Mike. I wish you had taken a pic, as I try to avoid O'Hare, and since I am in Saint Louis, its easy to do. Maybe on your way back, I hope? -- Have fun!   LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport

I had to go to a meeting at O'Hare Airport (Chicago) today. When in O'Hare I never venture out of the the American Airlines terminal complex but today I was with my boss, a diehard Continental flyer. He needed to change his flight so we wondered (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Sources for large wheels

I'm finding I really like using the large diameter spoked wheels that come in the RIS. Does anyone where more can be purchased? I can't find them in S@H or Dacta. -Wes (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.robotics)

Re: What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

Yes, they are pullies. They most likely have a Technic spacer between them, and it would probably work just fine for making custom rims. As for the playability of that particular model, I don't care, it LOOKS cool ;-) Now if I could only get ALL (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

(...) Most stuff at Legoland, unfortunatly, isn't designed to be "playable". But you're right, those are pullies for the hubs. The tires are standard small balloon tires. Jeff (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Do you separate old vs. new LEGO?

(...) My old lego is constantly at war with my new lego. I build tanks- like vehicles from my old 70's lego (mostly yellow universal and blue/grey space sets) and have battles with the new lego. My old lego vehicles are manned by old space and (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)
