LEGO Sears Tower @ Chicago O'Hare Airport

I had to go to a meeting at O'Hare Airport (Chicago) today. When in O'Hare I never venture out of the the American Airlines terminal complex but today I was with my boss, a diehard Continental flyer. He needed to change his flight so we wondered (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build)

  Sources for large wheels

I'm finding I really like using the large diameter spoked wheels that come in the RIS. Does anyone where more can be purchased? I can't find them in S@H or Dacta. -Wes (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.robotics)

Re: What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

Yes, they are pullies. They most likely have a Technic spacer between them, and it would probably work just fine for making custom rims. As for the playability of that particular model, I don't care, it LOOKS cool ;-) Now if I could only get ALL (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

(...) Most stuff at Legoland, unfortunatly, isn't designed to be "playable". But you're right, those are pullies for the hubs. The tires are standard small balloon tires. Jeff (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Do you separate old vs. new LEGO?

(...) My old lego is constantly at war with my new lego. I build tanks- like vehicles from my old 70's lego (mostly yellow universal and blue/grey space sets) and have battles with the new lego. My old lego vehicles are manned by old space and (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

What kind of wheels are used on this bike?

This image is from Tom Stangl's Legoland image repository: (URL) beautifully designed bike has some rather odd wheels. What kind of LEGO wheels are that? The hubs look like green medium pulleys. But while the design is indeed very nice, I fear that (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Lego "pegging" disks

(...) These gears are used in Marcus' Kinetoscope and Wind Mill at: (URL) they can certainly be used with Mindstorms too. Play well! Franz-Michael S. Mellbin --- Franz-Michael S. Mellbin (URL) fmm@fischer-mellbin.com (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

  How to reapply stickers?

Hi. I have a few old stickers (from 7722 and 7725 to be precise) which are either on the wrong brick or have (apparently) been applied once and stuck back on the sticker sheet. Does anybody have experience, good or bad, with taking stickers off (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Lego "pegging" disks

(...) I still have a lot of my Lego parts from 60s and 70s (some pictures of them at my site), but I'm pretty sure the first gears were the ones mentioned by Ralph. The largest was yellow, the medium one blue and the smaller red. Axles were white (...) (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.build)

Re: Flatbeds trucks and train M.O.W. vehicles

(...) could get with the lab's digital camera for my model photographs. Thanks for posting that you added images to your web site. later, James Mathis (25 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.trains)
