How to reapply stickers?

Hi. I have a few old stickers (from 7722 and 7725 to be precise) which are
either on the wrong brick or have (apparently) been applied once and stuck back
on the sticker sheet. Does anybody have experience, good or bad, with taking
stickers off bricks and reapplying them? Any particular kind of glue that
works well,etc.? I don't mind making this a fairly permanent job if I can get
them on straight, but I don't want to ruin the stickers, either, of course.
Any help would be appreciated....

PS to train folks--the 7722 stickers are to go on a German-prototype
"Tenderlokomotiv" I'm building--hopefully I'll get some pics up a couple months
down the road...
