  Re: Minifig scale Pyramid

Wow. That'd be neat : ) My wife keeps yelling at me to move the one I built in yellow bricks and it's only 68 studs on a side right now (hollow too) ... I don't think a minifig scale pyramid would even fit in my house : ( "Lawrence Wilkes" (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Thanks. (...) Well, I have a degree in Visual Commuications (aka Graphic Design). I really need to quit messing around with LEGO and pursue my dream of being a successful childrens book writer and illustrator. Oh well, LEGO is easier.... more (...)   Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) My photography techniques are pretty crude. I use my trusty old 35mm. I've made a stark white 3 sided box (bottom and two sides. I always try to shoot outside on clear days. The sun needs to be at a nice 45 degree angle or so (not noon). The (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

Excellent job Todd! I love the fold-down door and the interior. This model definitely proves that size does not matter when it comes to building cool LEGO spaceships. BTW are you graphics designer, or an artist, 'cause those schematics, that logo, (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

(...) How much post-processing did you do? Must finish space plane...(still need to finish the engines, cargo hold, and compressor for the landing gear) --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (URL) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space, lugnet.publish.photography)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) All the entries so far are very worthy - may the best spaceship win. (...) Glad you liked it - I had a lot of fun making it, and tried to convey that in the pictures. People sometimes seem to forget that it's *toys* we're playing with here :-) (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

8w Switcher Hood Taper concept (was: SW-something switcher)

(...) That sounds like a challenge to me! The problem was bugging me all morning, and it has been rather quiet around here, so I whipped this up. I don't prototype in MLCAD very much, but this looks feasable and reasonably sturdy to me. I believe (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Heh- you might think that was mine... but it is Steve's. I copied the basic color scheme from that loco, with some modifications. I was definitely inspired by it. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com www.pnltc.org (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Thanks Dan. Too bad it probably wouldn't fit onto your Gibraltar. I think that a ship like this would be of great service to a carrier. Sort of fill the E2-Hawkeye role, or even the Cat's Eye recon role from Robotech. I did make a much smaller (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) Wow, Thanks Jay. I'm glad you like it. I would love to be able to work on the little comic strip again. Maybe when I run out of steam on some of my many other projects. : ) Todd (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

(...) neat landing gear, etc. :-, Way awesome, makes me want to build one. The manga-style art in the final panel just blew my socks off. I would love to see more that too. Cheers, - jsproat (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

Re: Sighthound Recon: MOC for non-violent space contest

Wow! That's a neat design with lot's of cool details! The main hatch is very well conceived. I really dig the big AWACs style dish on top :) Excellent web page work with presenting the model too! Great job, Todd! Dan (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.build.contests, lugnet.space)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) I suspect he used the dual taper piece (4x4x1 high) in the yellow and red/black show trucks... that is a perfect piece for this application, but the problem with it is that it tapers from 4 to 2... Talk about your strong argument for making (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: SW-something switcher

(...) Yeah, that angle in is a bummer. Frankly, my solution has been to avoid it, because nothing is going to look just right given the limitations of the elements-- for *8wide*, that is. Rob Werner in the GFLTC has built a really nice switcher (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)
