  Re: Lego Mechspo

(...) Piggybacking on an existing national lego convention would be a good route for a non-virtual exhibit. But I don't know of any such convention. I can only imagine vast lego displays at the Las Vegas Convention Center... A Mechspo web gallery (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Analogue Control of Pneumatics

This is really interesting. There are definite differences between pneumatic and hydraulic systems. I dreamed of Lego hydraulic systems before, but I have never anything of it.   Re: Analogue Control of Pneumatics

In real life pneumatic is not used where more than two position is accuired, and when it is done ither more pneumatic cylinders are placed after each other to make more fixed positions. Or there is placed an hydraulic brake on the cylinder to holde (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

I recall the earliest ones, each of which had remarkable features, but these are much more subtle and thus carry a much better realistic "punch." What's truly telling is when you look at the (...)   Re: Jeremy Sproat

well, thank you all for correcting me... battletech is about the only place from whence i know a great deal of mechs... it is pretty obvious how they stole some of their designs, although i'm afraid i haven't seen many anime with mecha that look (...)   Re: Jeremy Sproat

(...) FASA acquires and recycles designs from anime. This is the Macross original J.S. was emulating: (URL) think FASA also has a clone of this other mech, which is pretty lame since it was designed to accomodate a 50 foot giant Zentradi: (URL) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Jeremy Sproat

(...) Actually, the "Warhammer" was a design lifted from the Robotech series, which was in turn lifted from several Anime series. The "Raidar X" mecha was one of 13 (IIRC) designs FASA was forced to 'give back' to the company that produced Robotech. (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My first Sculptures, Super Giant Hello Kitty

(...) I agree that it's just as good as some of Eric's models. I think the Hello Kitty is an excellent likeness and a great use of the available parts, even if he did "cheat" by using the huges and plates (since those are not from the 3033 tub). (...) (24 years ago, 21-Mar-01, to lugnet.build)
